Little May
Little May is an Australian folk band. Little May was founded in 2012 in Sydney by singer Hannah Field with guitarists Liz Drummond and Annie Hamilton. The band has taken inspiration from music by The National and alt-J. After various performances in the Sydney area, the band released a self-titled EP in 2014, which they had been working on for two years. In 2015, the duo worked on their debut album in New York City. The album was produced by Aaron Dessner of The National. To support the release of the album, the band went on an extensive tour through Europe, aided by bass keyboard player Mark Harding and drummer Cat Hunter. On 20 June 2015, the band performed in Netherlands on Best Kept Secret in Hilvarenbeek. On 9 October 2015 the album "For the company" was released. Dessner, who appeared on the album on various instruments, was credited on three tracks as a co-writer. Indiepop
Indie pop (also typeset as indie-pop or indiepop) is a music genre and subculture that combines guitar pop with a DIY ethic in opposition to the style and tone of mainstream pop music. The National (band)
The National is an American rock music, rock band from Cincinnati, Ohio, formed in Brooklyn, New York City, in 1999. Best Kept Secret (festival)
Best Kept Secret is a three-day music festival held since 2013 in the Beekse Bergen in the village of Hilvarenbeek, which is west of Eindhoven, The Netherlands. Best Kept Secret is a music festival with a line-up in which big names are alternated with new discoveries from indie, folk, hip-hop, rock, electronics, and a mixture of styles. The festival's centerpiece is a lake in the back of Beekse Bergen safari park. The founder of the festival said that his vision was "aiming to create something that we’d like to go to ourselves". Hilvarenbeek () is a municipality and a town in the south of the Netherlands, along the border with Belgium. Paradiso (Amsterdam)
Paradiso is a music venue and cultural center located in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Built in 1880 as a religious building for the Vrije Gemeente (Free Congregation), it was converted into youth entertainment venue in 1968. Until the 1990s, it was the largest concert club in Amsterdam. It is sometimes described as a "Pop Temple" (''poptempel'' in Dutch), as the interior of its main hall retains some church-like features, including large stained glass windows behind the stage.
