Little Hall
Little Hall is a hall of residence owned by the University of Melbourne in Australia. Established in 2020, it is situated on the former site of the Lincoln Institute of Health Sciences, Carlton, Victoria. It provides accommodation, academic, and pastoral support for up to 669 students studying at the university from around Australia and overseas. History Little Hall was established through a multi-million dollar gift from the Hansen-Little Foundation. It was officially opened on 5 May 2021 by the Governor of Victoria, Linda Dessau. Little Hall is one of three residential accommodation buildings recently opened by the University of Melbourne to provide "high quality, diverse accommodation options operated by the University of Melbourne", preceded by Lisa Bellear House and followed by The Lofts. Peter Tregear
Peter John Tregear OAM is an Australian musicologist, author and performer. Career Tregear's first academic appointment was as a lecturer in music at the University of Queensland in 1999. In 2000 he took up a Lectureship in music at Fitzwilliam and Churchill Colleges, Cambridge, as well as serving as a fellow and Director of Music at Fitzwilliam College, an appointment that "brought new energy" to the musical life of the college. Linda Marion Dessau (born 8 May 1953) is an Australian jurist and barrister who served as the 29th governor of Victoria from 2015 to 2023. She was the first female and the first Jewish holder of the office. Lisa Bellear House
Lisa (Marie) Bellear (2 May 1961 in Melbourne, Victoria – 5 July 2006 in Melbourne) was an Indigenous Australian poet, photographer, activist, spokeswoman, dramatist, comedian and broadcaster. She was a Goenpul woman of the Noonuccal people of Minjerribah (Stradbroke Island), Queensland. Her uncles were Bob Bellear, Australia's first Indigenous judge, and Sol Bellear who helped to found the Aboriginal Housing Corporation in Redfern in 1972. Bellear was adopted into a white family as a baby and was told she had Polynesian heritage. As an adult she explored her Aboriginal roots. Bellear died unexpectedly at her home in Melbourne.
