Lisula Lakshan (born 13 September 1995) is a Sri Lankan cricketer. Cricket
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. First-class Cricket
First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. The etymology of "first-class cricket" is unknown, but it was used loosely before it acquired official status in 1895, following a meeting of leading English clubs. Burgher Recreation Club
Burgher Recreation Club is a first-class cricket and hockey club based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. History The club was founded on 26 December 1896 known as the Bambalapitya Recreation Club, with membership restricted to the Burgher community. The first president was A. W. Raffel, the hon. secretary was O. H. Poppenback and the club captain was V. O. Wright. The club won its first cricket match on 9 November 1901. In 1902 the club moved from Bambalapitiya to Havelock Park. On 31 May 1915 the club changed its name to the Burgher Recreation Club. In 1925 the club was adjudged cricket champions. In 1947 B. R. Heyn was appointed as the captain of the Sri Lanka national cricket team. In the 1950s the club opened its membership to the wider community. The club won its first P. 2016–17 Premier League Tournament
The 2016–17 Premier League Tournament was the 29th season of first-class cricket in Sri Lanka's Premier Trophy. Fourteen teams competed, split into two groups of seven. Burgher Recreation Club replaced Sri Lanka Ports Authority Cricket Club, who were relegated from the previous years' tournament, after finishing bottom of the Plate League. List A Cricket
List A cricket is a classification of the limited-overs (one-day) form of the sport of cricket, with games lasting up to eight hours. List A cricket includes One Day International (ODI) matches and various domestic competitions in which the number of overs in an innings per team ranges from forty to sixty, as well as some international matches involving nations who have not achieved official ODI status. Together with first-class and Twenty20 cricket, List A is one of the three major forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC). 2016–17 Districts One Day Tournament
The 2016–17 Districts One Day Tournament was a List A cricket competition that took place in Sri Lanka. It replaced the scheduled Premier Limited Overs Tournament, after a legal challenge from Negombo Cricket Club, after they were removed from Tier B of the 2016–17 Premier League Tournament. The challenge stopped the Premier Limited Overs Tournament from taking place, but Sri Lanka Cricket Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is the governing body for cricket in Sri Lanka. It was first registered with the Sri Lankan Ministry of Sports (Sri Lanka), Ministry of Sports as the Board of Cricket for Sri Lanka (BCCSL) on 30 June 1975 as a national spo ... Twenty20
Twenty20 (T20) is a shortened game format of cricket. At the professional level, it was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the county cricket, inter-county competition. In a Twenty20 game, the two teams have a single innings each, which is restricted to a maximum of 20 over (cricket), overs. Together with first-class cricket, first-class and List A cricket, Twenty20 is one of the three current forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as being at the highest international or domestic level. 2017–18 SLC Twenty20 Tournament
The 2017–18 SLC Twenty20 Tournament was a Twenty20 cricket tournament that was held in Sri Lanka. It was played between domestic teams in Sri Lanka, with the tournament starting on 24 February 2018 and concluding on 8 March 2018. The matches were used as preparation for the 2018 Nidahas Trophy. Following the conclusion of the group stage, Colombo Cricket Club, Tamil Union Cricket and Athletic Club, Sri Lanka Army Sports Club and Nondescripts Cricket Club progressed to the quarterfinals. Nondescripts Cricket Club won the tournament, after they beat Colombo Cricket Club by six runs in the final. In February 2019, Sri Lanka Cricket named Ruvindu Gunasekara as the tournament's Best Batsman, Lasith Malinga as the Best Bowler and Chaturanga de Silva as the Player of the Tournament. Sri Lankan Cricketers
