DC Multiverse
In most of the DC Comics media, the Multiverse is a "cosmic construct" that is composed of the many fictional universes the stories of DC media take place in. The worlds within the multiverse share a space and fate in common, and its structure has changed several times in the history of DC Comics. History Golden Age The concept of a universe and a multiverse in which the fictional stories take place was loosely established during the Golden Age of Comic Books (1938–1956). With the publication of ''All-Star Comics'' #3 in 1940, the first crossover between characters occurred with the creation of the Justice Society of America (JSA), which presented the first superhero team with characters appearing in other publications (comic strips and anthology titles) to bring attention to less-known characters. This established the first shared "universe", as all these heroes now lived in the same world. Prior to this publication, characters from the different comic books seemingly existed ...

List Of DMZ Characters
'' DMZ'' is an American comic book series set in a near future war-torn New York City that ran for 72 issues from 2005 to 2012. Characters in the story are, for the most part, subjects of either the United States federal government and its corporate affiliates, the rival Free States of America, or natives of the demilitarized zone (DMZ) of Manhattan island. Factions Free States of America Originally a largely disorganized movement of right wing and anti-federal militias, the FSA has come to seize control of large areas of territory from the U.S. government. The FSA arose out of anger and disillusion following the U.S. government's continual engagement in foreign wars. Before the U.S. had the chance to respond militarily to the threat inside its own borders the FSA had amassed enough support and materials to fight the returning and exhausted U.S. military at Allentown, Pennsylvania to a stand still. The FSA is revealed to be fighting an asymmetric war employing conventional tacti ...

List Of Ibis The Invincible Enemies
Ibis the Invincible (also Ibis the Mystic) is the name of two fictional superheroes appearing in American comic books first published by Fawcett Comics, then Charlton Comics in 1955, and then DC Comics beginning in the 1970s. In 2022, the character also is published by Antarctic Press within Exciting Comics. Like many magician superheroes introduced in the Golden Age of Comics, Ibis owes much to the popular comic strip character Mandrake the Magician. Within Fawcett Comics and later DC Comics publication, the original Ibis was ancient Egyptian prince and magician Amentep. An acolyte of Thoth, he bears the "Ibistick", a powerful magical wand capable of only being used for good. While making sporadic appearances in some titles, Amentep is established as an accomplished magician and a ally of the Wizard Shazam and the Marvel Family. The second Ibis and successor to Amentep is Daniel Khalifa, a high-school student and descendant of magician pharaohs, granting him magical potential. H ...

List Of DC Comics Hitman Characters
Hitman (Tommy Monaghan) is a character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by Garth Ennis and John McCrea and first appeared in '' The Demon Annual'' #2 before receiving his own series by Ennis and McCrea that ran for 61 issues. Background ''Hitman'' chronicles the exploits of Tommy Monaghan, an ex-Marine Gulf War veteran turned contract killer from the Cauldron, a lower-class Irish district of Gotham City. He first appears in ''The Demon Annual'' #2 (part of the " Bloodlines" crossover in the summer of 1993), when he is attacked and bitten by a Bloodlines parasite called Glonth. Instead of dying, the bite unexpectedly triggers his metagene and grants him x-ray vision and moderate telepathy. A side effect is that his corneas and irises are solid black, indistinguishable from his pupils; the sight managed to unnerve Batman when he first saw them. The inherited powers later come with limits, and Monaghan uses them selectively, both ...

List Of Hawkman Enemies
A list is a set of discrete items of information collected and set forth in some format for utility, entertainment, or other purposes. A list may be memorialized in any number of ways, including existing only in the mind of the list-maker, but lists are frequently written down on paper, or maintained electronically. Lists are "most frequently a tool", and "one does not ''read'' but only ''uses'' a list: one looks up the relevant information in it, but usually does not need to deal with it as a whole". Lucie Doležalová,The Potential and Limitations of Studying Lists, in Lucie Doležalová, ed., ''The Charm of a List: From the Sumerians to Computerised Data Processing'' (2009). Purpose It has been observed that, with a few exceptions, "the scholarship on lists remains fragmented". David Wallechinsky, a co-author of '' The Book of Lists'', described the attraction of lists as being "because we live in an era of overstimulation, especially in terms of information, and lists help ...
