Chellaston is an Wards of the United Kingdom, electoral ward in the city of Derby, England. The ward contains seven Listed building#England and Wales, listed buildings that are recorded in the National Heritage List for England. Of these, one is listed at Grade II*, the middle of the three grades, and the others are at Grade II, the lowest grade. The ward contains a suburban village to the south of the city centre, and it is mainly residential. Chellaston
Chellaston is a suburban village on the southern outskirts of Derby, in Derbyshire, England. History An early mention of Chellaston is thought to be a reference to Ceolarde's hill. This is mentioned in a 1009 charter when nearby land was given to Morcar by King Æthelred the Unready. Historically, Chellaston has been part of the Hundred of Repton and Gresley. Chellaston was a separate village and was worth three shillings when the king gave it to Henry de Ferrers in the 11th century.''Domesday Book: A Complete Translation''.
