An academic journal (or scholarly journal or scientific journal) is a periodical publication in which scholarship relating to a particular academic discipline is published. They serve as permanent and transparent forums for the dissemination, scrutiny, and discussion of research. An international organization, also known as an intergovernmental organization or an international institution, is an organization that is established by a treaty or other type of instrument governed by international law and possesses its own legal personality, such as the United Nations, the Council of Europe, African Union, Mercosur and BRICS. ''Global Policy'' is a prestigious peer-reviewed academic journal based at the Global Policy Institute, School of Government and International Affairs, Durham University, and focusing on the "point where ideas and policy meet", published in association with Wiley-Blackwell.
