Pyotr Basin
Pyotr Vasilievich Basin (Russian: Пётр Васильевич Басин; 1793, Saint Petersburg – 1877, Saint Petersburg) was a Russian religious, history and portrait painter. He also served as a Professor at the Imperial Academy of Arts. Biography Beginning in 1811, he audited classes at the Imperial Academy of Arts. In 1813, he was admitted as a student of Vasily Shebuyev. After graduating, he spent the next eleven years in Rome on a fellowship, which he was given for his painting of Christ driving the money changers from the Temple. While there, he copied the works of Raphael and created almost 100 paintings of his own, many on mythological subjects. He also created genre scenes, from the countryside, and portraits, including one of the painter, Sylvester Shchedrin. Pyotr Semyonovich Bochek, ( uk, Петро Семенович Бочек; 3 March 1925 – 9 February 2018) was a junior lieutenant of the Soviet Army during World War II and a Hero of the Soviet Union. He was born in the Obrazhiivka village, Ukrainian SSR. He was drafted in November 1943 and commenced active war duty in January 1944. Pyotr Dmitryevich Boborykin (russian: Пётр Дми́триевич Боборы́кин; – 12 August 1921) was a Russian writer, playwright, and journalist. Biography Boborykin was born into the family of a landowner. He studied at Kazan State University and the Dorpat University, but he never completed his education. He made his debut as a playwright in 1860. In 1863-1864 he published an autobiographical novel, ''The Pathway''. Pyotr Ilyich Bilan (russian: Петр Ильич Билан; 21 July 1921 – 22 September 1996) was an honored Soviet Russian - Ukrainian painter working in the genre of easel painting. His works particularly include portraits, landscapes and thematic paintings. Biography Pyotr Ilyich Bilan was born on 7 July 1921, in the village of Novonikolaevka in the Zaporizhzhia region, Ukrainian SSR, USSR. He was a soldier in World War II and was recruited in 1940. He became a prisoner of war when captured in the Belarusian SSR close to the Polish border in July 1941 by Nazi Germany. He was deported to different unknown locations and escaped a prisoner camp in Badisch-Rheinfelden after having been condemned to death on Easter in 1942. He escaped the camp by breaking the barbed wire and swimming across the partly frozen River Rhine to Switzerland by night. Pyotr Alekseyevich Bezobrazov (russian: Пётр Алексе́евич Безобра́зов; 29 January 1845 – 17 July 1906) was an admiral in the Imperial Russian Navy. Pyotr Bestuzhev-Ryumin
Count Pyotr Mikhailovich Bestuzhev-Ryumin (russian: Пётр Миха́йлович Бесту́жев-Рюмин, lv, Pēteris Bestuževs-Rjumins; 1664–1742) was a Russian statesman who effectively governed the Duchy of Courland in the name of Anna Ivanovna between 1712 and 1728. Bestuzhev came from an ancient boyar family of Novgorod extraction. In 1701 he governed Simbirsk. Peter the Great sent him on diplomatic errands to Vienna and Berlin. After the tsar's niece Anna Ivanovna widowed and became the Duchess Dowager of Courland in 1712, Bestuzhev was attached to her court in order to superintend Courland's policies and affairs. Pyotr Alexeyevich Bessonov or (in the pre-1917 spelling) Bezsonov (Пётр Алексе́евич Бессо́нов; 1828–1898) was a leading Russian folklorist who collected and published many East Slavic and South Slavic folk songs. The son of a priest, Bessonov was born in Moscow. He graduated at Moscow University in 1851. After five years of graduate work in ancient and modern languages, he earned the government printing commission. Pyotr Filippovich Berestov (russian: Пётр Филиппович Берестов; , Berestovo – November 26, 1961, Zaporozhye) was a Red Army major general during the Second World War. Drafted into the Imperial Russian Army in 1917, Berestov participated in the Russian Revolution. He was drafted into the Red Army, fighting in the Russian Civil War and the Polish–Soviet War. He became a Red Army officer and served in several positions during the interwar period. Berestov was arrested and released during the Great Purge. He fought in the Winter War as a regimental commander.
