Alberta Highway 1A
Alberta Provincial Highway No. 1A is the designation of two alternate routes off the Alberta portion of Trans-Canada Highway 1. However, it is not the only name used for spurs off Highway 1 - Highway 1X is another such designation. Despite these highways being suffixed routes of Highway 1, they are not part of the Trans-Canada Highway network, and are signed with Alberta's provincial primary highway shields instead of the Trans-Canada shields used for Highway 1. Bow Valley Parkway The Lake Louise to Banff section of the Banff National Park 1A route is also known as the Bow Valley Parkway. Route 1A is a north–south state highway in Massachusetts. It is an alternate route to U.S. 1 with three signed sections and two unsigned sections where the highway is concurrent with its parent. Due to the reconfiguration of tunnel interchanges brought on by the completion of the Big Dig, Route 1A is discontinuous in the downtown Boston area. Vehicles entering Downtown Boston via the Sumner Tunnel must take I-93 north to the exit for Government Center and make a U-turn to access the entrance ramp to I-93 south (which silently carries Route 1A south as well) and vice versa. Secondary State Highway 1A (Washington)
State Route 9 (SR 9) is a long state highway traversing three counties, Snohomish, Skagit, and Whatcom, in the U.S. state of Washington. The highway extends north from an interchange with in the vicinity of Woodinville north through Snohomish, Lake Stevens, Arlington, Sedro-Woolley, and Nooksack to become (BC 11) at the Canada–US border in Sumas. Three other roadways are briefly concurrent with the route: in Arlington, in Sedro-Woolley, and near Deming. A spur route in Sumas serves trucks traveling into British Columbia. Before SR 9 was created, several other roads used the route of the current highway. New Hampshire Route 1A is an long state highway located in southeast New Hampshire. The route runs along the Atlantic coastline from the Massachusetts border north to Rye, then turns toward downtown Portsmouth. The southern terminus is at the Massachusetts state line in Seabrook where it continues south as Massachusetts Route 1A. The northern terminus is at a junction with U.S. Route 1 in downtown Portsmouth. For the length of the road's run along the shore, its local name is Ocean Boulevard.
