List Of Cities In Denmark By Population
This article shows a list of cities in Denmark by population. The population is measured by Statistics Denmark for urban areas (Danish: Byområder), defined as a contiguous built-up area with a maximum distance of 200 meters between houses, unless further distance is caused by public areas, cemeteries or similar. Furthermore, to obtain the status of being a city (''byområde''), the area must have at least 200 inhabitants. Vallensbæk Municipality
Vallensbæk Municipality () is a municipality ( Danish: '' kommune'') in the Capital Region of Denmark on Zealand. It is part of the Greater Copenhagen area and consist primarily of the suburb of Vallensbæk. It is one of the smallest municipalities in Denmark in terms of area. Vallensbæk Municipality borders the municipalities of Ishøj, Høje-Taastrup, Albertslund and Brøndby. It borders Køge Bay, and the Køge Bay Beach Park (Danish: ''Køge Bugt Strandpark'') along the coast. The suburb of Vallensbæk consists of two sections, not directly connected to each other: '' Vallensbæk Nordmark'' in the north and '' Vallensbæk Strand'' in the south. Kolding () is a Denmark, Danish seaport city located at the head of Kolding Fjord in the Region of Southern Denmark. It is the seat of Kolding Municipality. Horsens () is a city on the east coast of the Jutland region of Denmark. It is the seat of the Horsens municipality. Nørresundby
Nørresundby () is a city in Aalborg Municipality, north of Limfjorden, in Vendsyssel, in Denmark. The urban area has a population of 24,436 (1 January 2025). It is located just north of Aalborg, which lies south of Limfjorden. Statistically its own urban area since 2006, it is often still considered part of Aalborg; sometimes the name Greater Aalborg (''Stor-Aalborg'') is used to describe the concept. The city is connected to Aalborg by the Limfjordsbroen road bridge, and an iron railway bridge, as well as a motorway (E45) passing it to the east and running under the Limfjord. Aarhus
Aarhus (, , ; officially spelled Århus from 1948 until 1 January 2011) is the second-largest city in Denmark and the seat of Aarhus municipality, Aarhus Municipality. It is located on the eastern shore of Jutland in the Kattegat sea and approximately northwest of Copenhagen. Værløse Municipality
Værløse was a municipality ( Danish, '' kommune'') consisting of only ''one'' parish also named Værløse in the former Copenhagen County on the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in eastern Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 34 km2, and in 2005 had a total population of 18,649. Its last mayor was Jesper Bach, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. He was the first mayor of the newly formed Furesø municipality. The community is connected by a road and a motorway and commuter railway to Farum to the north via an isthmus at Fiskebæk between Lake Farum sø and Lake Furesø. The road and motorway run through a small forest on the western shore of Lake Furesø and is almost out of sight and hearing distance from nearby homes in Værløse, but north of the isthmus they run through the town of Farum, separating it in a western and eastern part. Søllerød Municipality
Until 1 January 2007 Søllerød was a municipality ( Danish, '' kommune'') in Copenhagen County on the east coast of the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in eastern Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 39.77 km2, and had a total population of 31,920 (2006). Its mayor was Erik Fabrin, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. Overview The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Holte. Other towns in the municipality were Gl. Holte, Nærum, Trørød, Vedbæk, Skodsborg, Søllerød and Øverød. Søllerød municipality ceased to exist as the result of ''Kommunalreformen'' ("The Municipal Reform" of 2007). It was merged with Birkerød municipality to form the new Rudersdal municipality.
