T'way Air Co., Ltd. () — formerly Hansung Airlines — is a South Korean low-cost airline based in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul. It operates scheduled domestic, regional and long-haul flights from its two bases at Gimpo and Incheon. History Foundation as Hansung Airlines T'Way's predecessor, ''Hansung Airlines'' (), first obtained an air operator's certificate (AOC) in April 2005 and received its first aircraft, an ATR 72 for its inaugural domestic services between Cheongju and Jeju shortly after. Hansung Airlines had planned to expand to international routes and subsequently ordered 20 ATR 72-500 aircraft. However, due to financial difficulties, Hansung Airlines ceased operations in 2009. Value Alliance was an airline alliance formed in May 2016. The alliance was the second commercial airline alliance that comprised low-cost carriers, after the U-FLY Alliance. It is the first pan-regional LCC alliance. It comprises five, originally eight, Asia-Pacific airlines: Cebu Pacific, Cebgo, Jeju Air, Nok Air and Scoot. Value Alliance was the fourth-largest airline alliance in terms of passengers, flights, destinations, combined fleet and members, ahead of U-FLY Alliance and Vanilla Alliance. Jeju International Airport is the second-largest airport in South Korea, just behind Incheon Airport in Incheon near Seoul. It is located in Jeju City. Operations Jeju International Airport, which opened in 1968, serves many mainland destinations in South Korea, as well as international destinations in mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. In 2015, 26,237,562 passengers used the airport. The airport is one endpoint of the world's busiest airline route, Jeju to/from Seoul-Gimpo.
