Urbano Music
Urbano music (Spanish and Portuguese: ; , ) or Latin urban is a transnational umbrella category including many different genres and styles. As an umbrella term it includes a wide and diverse set of genres and styles such as dancehall, dembow, urban champeta, funk carioca, Latin hip hop and reggaeton. The commercial breakthrough of this music took place in 2017 with artists from Colombia, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Panama, Puerto Rico, the United States, Venezuela and even non-Spanish-speaking nations, such as Brazil, where Portuguese is spoken. 1990s Origins In the late 1980s and early 1990s, most Latin hip hop came from the United States West Coast. Cuban-American artist Mellow Man Ace was the first Latino artist to have a major bilingual single attached to his 1989 debut. Martina Stoessel (; born 21 March 1997), known professionally as Tini, is an Argentine singer, actress, dancer and model. She began her career as a child actress, by appearing on the Argentine children's television series ''Patito Feo'' (2007). Polimá Ngangu Eduardo Miguel Orellana (born August 29, 1997), known professionally as Polimá WestCoast, is a Chilean rapper and singer. His musical style is defined as Latin trap and reggaeton. Alan Felipe Galleguillos, known professionally as FloyyMenor, is a Chilean singer and songwriter. After self-releasing singles since 2022, he eventually gained international prominence with his hit single " Gata Only" with Cris MJ, which he released through UnitedMasters. Life and career Galleguillos was born in La Serena and raised in the town of Vicuña in Chile. He began uploading his songs onto YouTube in 2022, using cars and Fairly OddParents-inspired characters as his cover art for his singles. One of his friends showed one of Galleguillos' songs, "Pa la Europa", to producer Lewis Somes, who works for Chilean singer Pailita, and acknowledged it.
