Kogi State
Kogi State is a States of Nigeria, state in the North Central Nigeria, North Central region of Nigeria, bordered to the west by the states of Ekiti State, Ekiti and Kwara State, Kwara, to the north by the Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria, Federal Capital Territory, to the northeast by Nasarawa State, to the northwest by Niger State, to the southwest by the states of Edo State, Edo and Ondo State, Ondo, to the southeast by the states of Anambra State, Anambra and Enugu State, Enugu, and to the east by Benue State. The All Progressives Congress (APC) is one of the two major contemporary political parties in Nigeria, along with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Founded on 6 February 2013 from a merger of Nigeria's three largest opposition parties, the party came to power following the victory of party candidate Muhammadu Buhari in the 2015 presidential election. Yahaya Adoza Bello (; born 18 June 1975) is a Nigerian businessman, politician. He served as the governor of Kogi State from 2016 to 2024. Clarence Olafemi is a Nigerian politician who was appointed acting Governor of Kogi State in February 2008, after the election of governor Ibrahim Idris was annulled. He handed back to Ibrahim Idris on 29 March 2008 after Idris had won a fresh election. Olafemi was born in the Mopa-Muro Local Government Area of Kogi State. He is a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He was a governorship candidate in the old Kwara State.
