An open-wheel single-seater (often known as formula car) is a car with the wheels outside the car's main body, and usually having only one seat. Open-wheel cars contrast with street cars, sports cars, stock cars, and touring cars, which have their wheels below the body or inside fenders. Open-wheel cars are built both for road racing and oval track racing. Street-legal open-wheel cars, such as the Ariel Atom, are scarce as they are often impractical for everyday use. Max Fewtrell
Maximilian Bradley Fewtrell (born 29 July 1999) is a British former racing driver, and former member of the Renault Sport Academy and 2016 British F4 champion. He competed in the 2020 FIA Formula 3 Championship for Hitech Grand Prix alongside Kiwi Liam Lawson and Norwegian Dennis Hauger, having driven for ART Grand Prix in the 2019 season. Career Karting Fewtrell was born in Birmingham. At a young age, he moved to Malaysia first, then Singapore for 9 years. He also has an older brother, Sam, and a younger brother, Theo. Max began karting in 2009 at the age of ten after watching the Singapore Grand Prix. Fewtrell karted in Singapore but competed mainly in Malaysia. 2016 F4 British Championship
The 2016 F4 British Championship (known as 2016 MSA Formula Championship at the first two rounds) was a multi-event, Formula 4 open-wheel single seater motor racing championship held across England and Scotland. The championship featured a mix of professional motor racing teams and privately funded drivers, competing in Formula 4 cars that conformed to the technical regulations for the championship. This, the second season, following on from the British Formula Ford Championship, was the second year that the cars conformed to the FIA's Formula 4 regulations. Part of the TOCA tour, it formed part of the extensive program of support categories built up around the BTCC centrepiece. Lando Norris
Lando Norris (born 13 November 1999) is a Belgian-British racing driver currently competing in Formula One with McLaren, racing under the British flag. He won the MSA Formula championship in 2015, and the Toyota Racing Series, Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 and Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup in 2016. He also received the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award that year. He subsequently joined the McLaren Young Driver Programme in 2017 and won the 2017 FIA Formula 3 European Championship, competing with Carlin Motorsport. Consequently, he was promoted to the Formula 2 Carlin team, where he finished second in 2018, competing with Carlin Motorsport. F4 British Championship
F4 British Championship (full name ROKiT F4 British Championship certified by FIA, formerly known as F4 British Championship certified by FIA — powered by Ford (2016–21), MSA Formula (2015)) is a single-seater motorsport series based in the United Kingdom. The series is run to the FIA's Formula 4 regulations, and is administered by Motorsport UK. The championship is designed as a low-cost entrance to car racing, and is aimed at young racing drivers moving up from karting. The championship replaces the British Formula Ford Championship, and used a chassis produced by Mygale and engines from Ford for seven seasons from 2015 to 2021. With Motorsport UK taking over the organization of the championship for years 2022–24, as Ford concluded their involvement, the championship will switch to a Tatuus chassis and Abarth as the engines supplier. Tatuus is an Italian chassis manufacturer for a series of formula racing series, being first founded in 1980. The company is known for its association with Renault Sport for its production of the Formula Renault chassis. History The Tatuus company was founded by Artico Sandonà in 1980. The first cars were manufactured for the 500cc and 1000cc Formula Monza championship. Founder Sandona was one of the drivers in the Formula Monza championship. Luca Melgrati won the first championship for Tatuus in 1983 in the Formula Panda Monza championship. Sandona achieved a second place in the championship. Tatuus were the team and chassis to beat. 2022 F4 Brazilian Championship
The 2022 F4 Brazilian Championship was the inaugural season of the F4 Brazilian Championship. It was a multi-event motor racing championship for open wheel, formula racing cars regulated according to FIA Formula 4 regulations. The championship used Tatuus F4 T-421 chassis. Teams and drivers All pre-selected teams were Brazilian-registered and each fields 4 cars. Team allocation for the drivers was decided by a draw.
