List Of Fast-track Approvals Bill Projects
The Fast-track Approvals Bill project list is a list of the 149 projects seeking approval through the Fast-track Approvals Act 2024 in New Zealand. The list of projects to be included in the Bill was released publicly on 6 October 2024. The list includes 44 housing developments, 7 aquaculture and farming projects, 43 infrastructure projects, 22 renewable energy projects, and 11 mining and quarrying projects. The locations of some projects were unspecified, such as the Waikato-based 'Green Steel' project to recycle shredded steel. The list included some projects, such as Trans-Tasman Resources' proposed sea bed mining project, and the Waitaha Hydro Project, that had been previously rejected due to their likely adverse environmental effects. On 31 October the Auditor-General announced that he would conduct an enquiry into how conflicts of interest were identified and handled in the project selection process. Te Ārai
Te Ārai is a small community on the east coast of the North Island of New Zealand, near the northern end of the Auckland Region (specifically within the former Rodney District). Mangawhai lies to the north, and Tomarata to the south. The name comes from Tāhuhunui-o-te-rangi, captain of the '' Moekākara'' waka, who landed here and set up a temporary shelter (''arai'').
