Chernihiv ( uk, Черні́гів, , russian: Черни́гов, ; pl, Czernihów, ; la, Czernihovia), is a city and municipality in northern Ukraine, which serves as the administrative center of Chernihiv Oblast and Chernihiv Raion within the oblast. BC Chernihiv (), is a Ukrainian professional basketball club based in Chernihiv, Ukraine. The club plays in the Ukrainian Higher League. History BC Chernihiv started in the third season of the Ukrainian Men's First League in its history. In Kyiv, Igor Sachenko's team met with the capital's Predators. Yunist ShVSM Chernihiv ( uk, "Юність-ШВСМ" Чернігів) is Ukrainian women's football club from Chernihiv, Ukraine established in 2020. ShVSM abbreviation stands for School of Higher Sports Mastery (Ukrainian: Школа Вищої Спортивної Майстерності). History Origin The team was found as a temporary solution in 2020 in Chernihiv as the Chernihiv Oblast was left without a women's team for the first time since 1992. Yunist Chernihiv ( uk, ФК «Юність» Чернігів) is a Ukrainian amateur football team based on Yunist sports school in Chernihiv.
