Rock and roll (often written as rock & roll, rock 'n' roll, or rock 'n roll) is a genre of popular music that evolved in the United States during the late 1940s and early 1950s. Hard Rock
Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the garage, psychedelic and blues rock movements. Some of the earliest hard rock music was produced by the Kinks, the Who, The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Cream, Vanilla Fudge, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. In the late 1960s, bands such as Blue Cheer, the Jeff Beck Group, Iron Butterfly, Led Zeppelin, Golden Earring, Steppenwolf and Deep Purple also produced hard rock. A drummer is a percussionist who creates music using drums. Mircea Baniciu
Mircea Baniciu (; born 31 July 1949) is a Romanian musician, singer, and songwriter. Originally known as the lead singer of the Romanian rock group Transsylvania Phoenix, Baniciu quit the group when they illegally fled Romania for West Germany in 1977, continuing his career as a successful solo singer throughout the 1980s before forming a folk supergroup in 1992 with fellow musicians Mircea Vintilă, Vlady Cnejevici, and Florian Pittiș, with whom he had successfully toured Romania during the 1990s. Following the Romanian Revolution, Baniciu re-joined Transsylvania Phoenix as their lead singer, but, due to frequent disagreements with band leader Nicu Covaci, has performed and appeared on the group's albums irregularly, before finally quitting Phoenix permanently in 2007. Josef Kappl
Josef Kappl (born 15 January 1950) is a Romanian-German multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter who is best known as one of the oldest members and bass players in the Romanian rock band Transsylvania Phoenix, initially performing with this band in Communist Romania starting from 1971 up until 1979. Born in Petrila, Hunedoara County, Romania in an ethnic German family (of Austro-Bavarian origin), Kappl was the bass player as well as one of the main members of the Romanian rock band Phoenix during the 1970s. He graduated from the Music Conservatory in Timișoara, Banat. He also played the violin and the recorder during his time with Trannsylvania Phoenix. In addition to his career with Trannsylvania Phoenix, Ioji is also a former member of the German rock bands Lake and Verstärkung. Costin Petrescu (musician)
Costin Petrescu (born in 1947 in Bucharest) is an architect, graphic artist, percussionist and Romanian-French composer. He is one of the pioneers of the Romanian rock performing in two legendary pop-rock bands, Olympic 64 and Phoenix. His love for jazz and jazz / rock led to numerous projects and collaborations with Mircea Tiberian, Marius Popp, Dan Mandrila, Johnny Răducanu, Cătălin Târcolea, Dragoş Nedelcu, Mircea Florian, Nicu Alifantis, Sergiu Cioiu.
