Telugu Language
Telugu (; , ) is a Dravidian languages, Dravidian language native to the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where it is also the official language. Spoken by about 96 million people (2022), Telugu is the most widely spoken member of the Dravidian language family, and one of the twenty-two Languages with legal status in India, scheduled languages of the Republic of India. It is one of the few languages that has primary official status in more than one States and union territories of India, Indian state, alongside Hindi and Bengali language, Bengali. Tenneti Hemalata
Tenneti Hemalata, (15 November 1935 – 1997), better known as Lata, is a Telugu writer from Andhra Pradesh, India. She was a prolific and influential writer who wrote about various situations through the perspective of an educated Niyogi Brahmin woman. Some of her novels, like 'galipadagaloo nitibudagalu ' raised controversies. She was said to be a liberal but her writings had a solid base of tradition too. Biography Lata was born to Nibhanupudi Visalakshi and Narayana Rao on 15 November 1935 in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. Her full given name was Janaki Rama Krishnaveni Hemalata. She had formal schooling up to fifth standard, and later studied Sanskrit, Telugu and English classics at home. She was married at the age of nine to Tenneti Atchyutaramayya, who was seven years her senior, and suffered from an incurable medical condition. Malladi Venkata Krishna Murthy (born 13 November 1949) is an Indian Telugu-language author. He is known for writing thriller plots. Career Murthy wrote many novels and short stories. Kaloji Narayana Rao
Kaloji Narayana Rao (9 September 1914 – 13 November 2002) was an Indian poet, freedom fighter, anti-fascist and political activist of Telangana. He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 1992. The Telangana government honored Kaloji's birthday as Telangana Language Day. Education and activism Kaloji was born on 9 September 1914 in Rattihalli village in Bijapur district, Karnataka. His mother Ramabayamma hailing from Karnataka. Father Kaloji Rangarao is from Maharashtra, his elder brother, Kaloji Rameshwar Rao, an Urdu poet, played a vital role in shaping his personality. Garikapati Narasimha Rao
Garikipati Narasimha Rao is an Indian scholar, litterateur, and avadhani from Andhra Pradesh. In 1996, he performed Avadhanam with 1116 ''Pruchchakas'' for 21 days in Kakinada. He also delivers lectures on personality development based on dharmic culture and way of life. He regularly appears on Telugu TV channels like SVBC, Bhakti TV, and ABN Andhra Jyothi giving discourses on ancient Hindu texts like ''Bhagavadgita'', ''Ramayana'', and ''Mahabharata''. In 2022, he was awarded India's fourth-highest civilian award Padma Shri by the government of India. Kodavatiganti Kutumbarao
Kodavatiganti Kutumba Rao (28 October 1909 – 17 August 1980), also known as Ko Ku, was an exponent of the Telugu literature in the 20th century. He believed that literature which criticises and enriches human life and ultimately reforms the human thought of its time is the only relevant form of literature. Life Kodavatiganti Kutumbarao was born in to a middle-class family in Tenali, Guntur district. His schooling until 1925 was in Tenali. He lost his father in 1914 and his mother in 1920, and grew up with his uncle. He was very familiar with village life. Daasaradhi Krishnamacharyulu
Dasarathi Krishnamacharya (22 July 1925 – 5 November 1987), popularly known as Dasarathi, was an Indian Telugu poet and writer. He held the titles ''Abhyudhaya Kavi'' and ''Kalaprapurna''. He was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award for his poetic work ''Timiramto Samaram'' () in 1974. Dasarathi also served as the Aasthana Kavi () of the Government of Andhra Pradesh. Early life Dasarathi was born on 22 July 1925 in a middle-class Vaishnava Brahmin family. His native village, Chinnaguduru, is in the Maripeda Mandal of Mahabubabad district. Kethu Viswanatha Reddy (10 July 1939 – 22 May 2023), also known as Ketu Visvanathareddi, was an Indian short story writer, novelist, and essayist. He won the Sahitya Akademi Award in Telugu in 1996 for his short story ''Kethu Viswanatha Reddy Kathalu''. Kesava Rao Desetty
Keshava (, ) is an epithet of Vishnu in Hindu tradition. The name appears as the 23rd and 648th names in the Vishnu Sahasranama of the Mahabharata. Keshava is also venerated by those persons wanting to avert bad luck or ill-omens. His consort is Kirti (Lakshmi). Keshava is an iconographical form of Vishnu. Etymology Keshava means "the one with beautiful long (unshorn) hair" or "killer of the Keshi demon". According to the Padma Purana, the name refers to Krishna's long, beautiful, looking unshorn hair. Referring to Sangraha Ramayana of Narayana Panditacharya, Authors Meenakshi Bharat and Madhu Grover says that "The name Keshava refers to Vishnu. Keshava Reddy
Kesava Reddy (10 March 1946 – 13 February 2015) was a Telugu novelist. Hailing from Andhra Pradesh state in India. In his writings he addresses many of the important social problems in India like poverty, prejudices, and superstitions, and encourages people to be socially responsible. He successfully bridges the idealistic and the popular styles of literature. His novel "Athadu Adavini Jayinchadu" was one of his major writings. 'Munemma', 'Moogavani Pillanagrovi' and 'Smasanam Dunne' were among his other novels. Some were translated into English and other languages. Kavana Sarma
Kandula Varaha Narasimha Sarma known in Telugu literary circles as Kavana Sarma (23 September 1939 – 25 October 2018). was an Indian professor of civil engineering who was also a novelist and writer of Telugu fiction. He retired from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and served as an advisor to Rachana Masa Patrika. In his essay, "Political and Social Reality in Telugu Fiction", Prof. V. V. S. Janardhana Maharshi (born 16 May) is an Indian film director, writer, and producer, who works predominantly in Telugu cinema and Kannada cinema. He directed ''Devasthanam'' and '' Viswadarshanam''.
