Lipton
Lipton is a brand named after its founder, Sir Thomas Lipton, Tom Lipton, who started an eponymous grocery retail business in the United Kingdom in 1871. The brand was used for various consumer goods sold in Lipton stores, including tea from 1890 for which the brand is now best known. The Lipton brand today is owned by Lipton Teas and Infusions after CVC Capital Partners acquired the business from Unilever in 2022. Unilever retained use of the Lipton brand for tea in India, Nepal, and Indonesia as well as for ready to drink beverages globally, such as Lipton Ice Tea, which are sold by a joint venture between Unilever and PepsiCo, and not associated with Lipton Teas and Infusions. Luk Yu () is a teahouse and dim sum restaurant located on Stanley Street, in the Central area of Hong Kong, established in 1933. It is currently the oldest restaurant in Hong Kong. It is known for its colonial style, adherence to tradition and loyal long-time customers, for whom the entire first floor is unofficially reserved. Teekampagne (which has its headquarters in Potsdam, Germany, and can roughly be translated into English as 'Tea Campaign') is the largest mail order tea business in Germany and the world's largest importer of Darjeeling loose leaf tea. Teekampagne runs a traceability program allowing to follow each single package to the tea garden where it comes from. This includes also documents of sampling, analysis, EGCG, certificate of origin and cargo inspections. Teekampagne was founded in Berlin in 1985 by Günter Faltin, entrepreneur and professor of entrepreneurship at the Freie Universität Berlin. The company's business model saves costs on storage, transportation and packaging: it imports directly from India, limits itself to one product (Darjeeling tea), trades only organic teas, subjects that product to stringent tests for quality, and sells in large packages. Teekanne GmbH & CO. kg is a German tea trading company, based in Düsseldorf. The founders Rudolf Anders and Eugen Nissle were the first to sell tea in tin box, tins and already mixed teas on a high quality level. Furthermore, they went on to invent the machine-made tea bag. Today the family-run company produces 7.5 billion tea bags per year. History Teekanne, then known under the name “R.Seelig & Hille”, was founded on 16 July 1882 in Dresden. In 1888 the company was renamed “Theekanne”, old German spelling for "Teekanne", meaning "teapot", and registered as a trademark. Pâtisserie E. Ladurée, commonly known as Ladurée (), is a French manufacturer and retailer of high-end pastries and candy, established in 1862. Ladurée is well-known throughout the world for its Macaron, macarons. The company is a ''société par actions simplifiée'' (simplified joint stock corporation) and has its head office in Paris, France. Early years Louis Ernest Ladurée, a miller, founded a bakery in 1862 on the rue Royale, Paris. During the Paris Commune uprising of 1871, the bakery was burnt down. Kusmi Tea is a brand of tea, headquartered in Paris, France. Originally founded by Pavel Kousmichoff in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1867, the brand moved to Paris, at the onset of the Russian Revolution, in 1917. The brand is currently owned by Groupe Orientis.
