1967 NFL Season
The 1967 NFL season was the 48th regular season of the National Football League. The league expanded to 16 teams with the addition of the New Orleans Saints. The two eight-team divisions became two eight-team conferences split into two divisions each: the newly renamed Eastern Conference divisions were Capitol (Dallas, New Orleans, Philadelphia, and Washington) and Century (Cleveland, New York, Pittsburgh, and St. Louis), and the newly renamed Western Conference divisions were Central (Chicago, Detroit, Green Bay, and Minnesota) and Coastal (Atlanta, Baltimore, Los Angeles, and San Francisco). 1967 AFL Season
The 1967 AFL season was the eighth regular season of the American Football League. The season ended when the Oakland Raiders (13–1) hosted the Houston Oilers (9–4–1) in the AFL championship game on December 31. The Raiders won 40–7 and then met the NFL's Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl II two weeks later, won by Green Bay, 33–14. The 1966 Kansas City Chiefs season was the team's seventh season in the American Football League (AFL) and fourth in Kansas City. With an 11–2 regular season record, the Chiefs won the Western Division and defeated the Buffalo Bills 31–7 to win their second AFL Championship, their first in Kansas City. The American Football Conference (AFC) is one of the two conferences of the National Football League (NFL), the highest level of professional American football in the United States.
