Discovery Family Channel (DFC)
Discovery Family (known on-air as Discovery Family Channel and abbreviated as DFC) is an American Specialty channel, cable television channel co-owned by The Cartoon Network, Inc. and Hasbro Entertainment, which are divisions of Warner Bros. Discovery Global Linear Networks and Hasbro respectively. The channel was originally launched by Discovery Communications (later Discovery, Inc.) on October 22, 1996 as Discovery Kids Channel (later Discovery Kids), a spin-off of Discovery Channel featuring science- and nature-themed programming aimed towards a youth audience. In 2010, Discovery Kids was relaunched as The Hub (later Hub Network) as part of a joint venture with Hasbro led by veteran executive Margaret Loesch. The relaunch pivoted the channel towards a general entertainment format, with Dayparting, dayparts targeting preschool, youth, and family audiences respectively. Discovery Kids (Latin America)
Discovery Kids (stylized as DK) is a Latin American subscription television channel owned by Warner Bros. Discovery and headquartered in Miami, Florida, which started as a programming block on the Latin American version of Discovery Channel. It launched on 1 November 1996, with programming aimed for older children and preschoolers. It was owned by Discovery Networks Latin America and is one of two Discovery Kids-branded channels that remains airing (the other being Discovery Kids India). The programming is entirely in either Spanish or Portuguese, depending on the region. The channel is divided into six live feeds: Pan-regional, Colombia, Southern (plus a Chilean subfeed), Mexico and Brazil, each with their own HD simulcast feeds. Each week, the children compete to make the best dish, and are judged on presentation, taste, and creativity. ''Yard Crashers'' is a television show on the DIY Network that surprises home owners with a brand-new yard. The show is hosted by Matt Blashaw who is a licensed contractor. Like other "crasher" shows on the DIY Network, Blashaw and his crew ambush homeowners while they are home improvement shopping, follow them back to their homes, tear apart their yards and help them do a complete backyard makeover.
