DD National
DD National (formerly DD1) is an Indian state-owned entertainment television channel, founded by the Government of India, owned by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (India), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. It is the flagship channel of Doordarshan, launched on 15 September 1959. India's public service broadcaster, and the oldest and most widely available terrestrial television channel in India. It has been a medium for government to spread propaganda since it's establishment. History 1959 to 1982: Beginnings On 15 September 1959 at the studio of All India Radio, Delhi, the first TV channel in India started an experimental telecast with a small transmitter and a makeshift studio, adopting the brand ''Doordarshan'', Hindi for television. Fushigi No Kuni No Alice
is an anime adaptation of the 1865 novel ''Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'' which ran on the TV Tokyo network and other local television stations across Japan from October 10, 1983 to March 26, 1984. The television series was a Japanese-German co-production between Nippon Animation and Apollo Films. The television series consists of 52 episodes, but only 26 made it to the United States. In the English language, this series is generally overshadowed by the success of Disney's 1951 feature film version of the story, but the anime series was quite popular in various European countries, in Israel, in the Philippines, in Latin America, in Iran, and in the Arabic-speaking world. The series was also dubbed into Hindi by the national film development board of India and telecast on Doordarshan in the early 1990s. ''Tom and Jerry'' is an American Animated cartoon, animated media franchise and series of comedy short films created in 1940 by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. ''The Lion King's Timon & Pumbaa'' is an American animated buddy comedy television series produced by Walt Disney Television Animation. It has been broadcast in English, Bengali, Hindi, Nepali, Urdu, Odia and Dari languages and first aired on television in 1993 on Bangladesh Television. is a Japanese anime adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's original collection of stories, ''The Jungle Book'' produced by Nippon Animation in co-production with Italian animation studio Mondo TV and Doro TV Merchandising. The series, a compromise between the original Mowgli stories and the Walt Disney version, received international acclaim and was aired in different countries around the world.
