Dan Daniel (June 6, 1890 – July 1, 1981), born Daniel Margowitz, was an American sportswriter whose contributions over a long period led him to be called "the dean of American baseball writers". Clifton Daniel, 3rd (or III; called Dan; born July 4, 1947) is a bishop in the Episcopal Church. He served as the dean of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine from 2018 to 2022. Early life and education Daniel was born on July 4, 1947 in Goldsboro, North Carolina, United States. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated in 1969 with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish education.
