Nickelodeon (nicknamed Nick) is an American pay television channel and the flagship property of the Nickelodeon Group, a sub-division of the Paramount Media Networks division of Paramount Global. Launched on April 1, 1979, as the first cable channel for children, it is primarily aimed at children and adolescents aged 2 to 17, along with a broader family audience through its programming blocks. The channel began as a test broadcast on December 1, 1977, as part of QUBE, an early cable television system broadcast locally in Columbus, Ohio. On April 1, 1979, the channel was renamed Nickelodeon and launched to a new nationwide audience, with '' Pinwheel'' as its inaugural program. Gábor Csupó ( , ; born September 29, 1952) is a Hungarian animator, writer, director, producer and graphic designer. He is co-founder of the animation studio Klasky Csupo, which produced the first three years of ''The Simpsons'', as well as episodes of ''Rugrats'', '' The Wild Thornberries'', ''Duckman'', '' Stressed Eric'', '' Rocket Power'', '' As Told by Ginger'', and ''Aaahh!!! Real Monsters''. Early life Csupó was born on September 29, 1952, to Jewish parents in Budapest, Hungary. Steve Viksten
Stephen Lee Viksten (July 19, 1960 – June 23, 2014) was an American television writer and voice actor who was best known for co-developing and voicing the character Oskar Kokoshka on the Nickelodeon animated series ''Hey Arnold!''. Viksten also wrote multiple episodes of ''Hey Arnold!'', ''Rugrats'', '' Recess'', ''Duckman'' and ''The Simpsons''. Viksten's sole contribution to the latter, season 22's "Homer Scissorhands", was his final writing credit before his death. Early life Viksten was born in Ventura, California on July 19, 1960. Joseph Michael Ansolabehere (born June 18, 1959) is an American writer and producer. He is the co-creator of '' Recess'' and ''Lloyd in Space'' with partner and friend Paul Germain; they form the team Paul & Joe Productions. He also served as a story editor on the first 65 episodes of ''Rugrats'', as well as a co-producer and story editor of the first season of ''Hey Arnold!'' Craig Bartlett
Craig Michael Bartlett (born October 18, 1956) is an American animator. He wrote, directed, created, and produced the Nickelodeon television series ''Hey Arnold!'' and the PBS Kids television series ''Ready Jet Go!'' and ''Dinosaur Train''. Career Bartlett's first job, after graduating from the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, was at Will Vinton Studios in Portland, Oregon, where he learned the art of stop-motion animation, working on movies such as '' The Adventures of Mark Twain''. Bartlett moved to Los Angeles in 1987 to animate the "Penny" claymations for the second season of '' Pee-wee's Playhouse'' on CBS. He later made an animated ID for NBC with Klasky Csupo. ''Hey Arnold!'' is an American animated sitcom created by Craig Bartlett for Nickelodeon. It originally aired from October 7, 1996, to June 8, 2004. The show centers on fourth grader Arnold Shortman, who lives with his grandparents in an inner-city tenement in the fictional city of Hillwood. Episodes center on his experiences navigating urban life while dealing with the zany hijinks he and his friends encounter. Many episodes, however, focus on other characters, including major, secondary, supporting, and even minor characters. Peter Gaffney is an American writer, story editor and producer best known for his writing work on ''The Simpsons'' and ''Rugrats''. Gaffney has had a long and varied career, much of it in children's animation. He is co-creator (with Gábor Csupó) of the series ''Aaahh!!! Real Monsters''. Gaffney was born in Endicott, New York, the son of computer pioneer John Frederick Gaffney and Carol Crandall Gaffney. Spümcø, Inc. ( ; stylized as SPÜMCØ) was an American animation studio that was active from 1989 to 2005 and based in Los Angeles, California. The studio was best known for working on the first two seasons of ''The Ren & Stimpy Show'' for Nickelodeon and for various commercials. The studio won several awards, including an Annie Award for Best Animated Short Subject for the music video of the song " I Miss You" by Björk. John Kricfalusi
Michael John Kricfalusi ( ; born September 9, 1955), known professionally as John K., is a Canadian illustrator, blogger, and former animator and voice actor. He is the creator of the animated television series ''The Ren & Stimpy Show'', which was highly influential on televised animation during the 1990s. From 1989 to 1992, he was heavily involved with the first two seasons of the show in virtually every aspect of its production, including providing the voice of Ren Höek and other characters. In 2009, he won the Inkpot Award. Born in Quebec, Kricfalusi spent his early childhood in Germany and Belgium before returning to Canada at age seven.
