CHUM Chart
The CHUM Chart was a ranking of top 30 (and, until August 1968, the top 50) songs on Toronto, Ontario radio station CHUM AM, from 1957 to 1986, and was the longest-running Top 40 chart in the world produced by an individual radio station. On January 10, 1998, sister station CHUM-FM, which airs a hot adult contemporary format, revived the CHUM Chart name for a new countdown show. The CHUM Chart also aired as a television program on Citytv every Saturday at 2:00 P.M. until January 2008, when the show was discontinued after Rogers Communications gained control of the Citytv stations and replaced it with the ''JackNation'' chart, a show based on their Jack FM radio brand. The program featured a mix of music, plays, operas, documentaries, and news, and typically ran for around three hours without commercials. It was billed as being "produced primarily for the discriminating listener", and drew comparisons to the BBC Third Programme. The series was critically acclaimed, receiving awards from the Ohio State University Institute for Education by radio "for its courageous experiments with radio themes, techniques and writing, and for the excellence of its music and production." CBC Radio 3 Sessions
''CBC Radio 3 Sessions'' is a Canadian radio program, which airs on the satellite radio network CBC Radio 3. Hosted by Tariq Hussain, the program airs in-studio sessions by Canadian musicians in the Radio 3 studios, including both live song performances and interview segments. Two artists are profiled in each episode, each of which performs for half an hour. Some of the sessions predate Radio 3's presence as a radio network, dating back to its time as a webcast provider. One of its projects during that era was Just Concerts, a website which aired both studio sessions and recordings of regular concerts. The studio sessions began to air as a radio program in February 2007. The program airs at 11 a.m. PT (2 p.m. ET) on Saturdays, midnight PT (3 a.m. ET) on Sundays and 4 a.m. PT (7 a.m. ET) on Mondays. CBC Radio 3 is a Canadian digital radio station operated by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, which plays a relatively freeform mix of indie rock, indie pop, alternative hip hop, folk, country and electronic music. ''Canada Live'' is a Canadian radio program aired on both CBC Radio One and CBC Radio 2 since 2007. It debuted on March 19, 2007 on CBC Radio 2,"Radio Two's new gig". The program was originally hosted by Matt Galloway on weekdays and Patti Schmidt on weekends. However, their main role on most occasions was to introduce a local CBC personality in the region from which the concert was broadcast, who then hosted the remainder of the evening. From fall 2007 to fall 2009, the program only used the regional hosts. Following budget cuts (which also resulted in the program being shortened from two hours each night to one), Andrew Craig took over as permanent host of the program.
