Joseph Caron
Joseph Caron (born 1947) is a Canadian diplomat. He served as the former Canadian high commissioner to India and former Canadian ambassador to China and Japan. Born and raised in the small francophone agricultural village of Pain Court in South-western Ontario (Canada), Caron attended the University of Ottawa (B.A. Honours Political Science, 1970). He joined the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service in 1972 and served abroad in Saigon (Vietnam) and Ankara (Turkey). Howard Balloch
Howard Balloch is a former Canadian diplomat. He was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to China, Mongolia and North Korea. Prior to his appointment as Ambassador, he served for two years in the Privy Council Office as Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet for National Unity, a key position in the federal government up to and during the Quebec referendum on sovereignty of 1995. Chester Alvin Ronning (December 13, 1894 – December 31, 1984) was a Canadian educator, politician, and diplomat. Ronning was born in Fancheng, China, now in Xiangyang, Hubei province, the son of Norwegian American Lutheran missionaries, and graduated from the University of Alberta in 1916 with a B.Sc. Ronning's family moved from China to the Peace River country of Alberta. Halvor Ronning, Chester's father, was instrumental in establishing a Norwegian settlement north-west of Grande Prairie called Valhalla Centre. George Sutton Patterson (1887–1953) was a Canadian missionary, diplomat and representative on UNTCOK. Born in 1887, Patterson was vice-president and later head of the Toronto YMCA.
