Lisa Patterson
Lisa Patterson is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, songwriter, performer, producer/engineer and educator. A classically trained musician, she went directly from high school to study audio engineering and production at Fanshawe College, London, Ontario, and later attended Toronto’s York University as a performance major focusing on South Indian music, Composition and Contemporary Improvisation. She has been active as a side musician and solo recording artist touring in North America, India, Mexico, Europe and the Middle East. While her main instrument is piano, Lisa performs frequently on alto saxophone and duduk. She was born in Canada to a Scottish father, Rob Patterson and a Canadian mother of Romanian descent, Elaine Gherasim, who died in 2006. Fanshawe College of Applied Arts and Technology, commonly shortened to Fanshawe College, is a public college in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. ''Roadkill'' is a 1989 Canadian film directed by Bruce McDonald. In a review of the film's soundtrack album, the website AllMusic calls the film "an increasingly weird mix of ''Heart of Darkness'' and ''The Wizard of Oz''". Background The film was inspired by the Toronto rock band A Neon Rome. McDonald's original idea was to make a concert film following that band on tour; however, the band's lead singer, Neal Arbik, became disillusioned with the demands of touring to promote the band's debut album. His behaviour became increasingly erratic and rebellious over the course of the tour, and he ultimately quit the music industry before the film — or the band's second album — could be made. Bruce McDonald (born May 28, 1959) is a Canadian film and television director, writer, and producer. Born in Kingston, Ontario, he rose to prominence in the 1980s as part of the loosely-affiliated Toronto New Wave. McDonald has directed more than a dozen features films over the course of his three-decade-long filmmaking career. ''The Hollywood Reporter'' has called him an "iconoclastic filmmaker". Durham is a community in the municipality of West Grey, Grey County, Ontario, Canada. Durham is located near the base of the Bruce Peninsula. Toronto Symphony Orchestra
The Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) is a Canadian orchestra based in Toronto, Ontario. Founded in 1906, the TSO gave regular concerts at Massey Hall until 1982, and since then has performed at Roy Thomson Hall. The TSO also manages the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra (TSYO). Metro Morning is CBC Radio One's local morning program in Toronto, airing on CBLA-FM.
