Linos Gavriel
Pantelis "Linos" Gavriel (in Greek: Λίνος Γαβριήλ; born 1975) is a Cypriot-Greek professional basketball coach. He is the head coach of Manama Club since his re-hiring in 2023. Gavriel has been successful in Bahrain, Cyprus, Tunisia, among other countries during his career, winning championships with several local teams. He was also on the Cyprus men's national basketball team from 2017 until 2021. Early life and education Born in London, Gavriel was raised in the Greek city of Thessaloniki, and became interested in basketball after seeing the Greece national team win gold at EuroBasket 1987. He obtained a Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in physical education at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Gavriel later worked as a physical education professor at the University of Cyprus. The 1987 FIBA European Championship, commonly called FIBA EuroBasket 1987, was the 25th FIBA EuroBasket regional basketball championship, held by FIBA Europe. Greece Men's National Basketball Team
The Greece men's national basketball team ( el, Eθνική Oμάδα Καλαθοσφαίρισης Ελλάδος) represents Greece in international basketball. They are controlled by the Hellenic Basketball Federation, the governing body for basketball in Greece. Greece is currently ranked ninth in the FIBA World Rankings.
