Line 2 of the Saint Petersburg Metro, also known as ''Moskovsko-Petrogradskaya Line'' () or ''Blue Line'', is a second oldest rapid transit line in Saint Petersburg, Russia, opened in 1961, which connects city centre with the northern and southern districts. It featured the first cross-platform transfer in the USSR. It was also the first metro line in Saint Petersburg to feature a unique platform type that soon became dubbed as "Horizontal Lift". Metrovagonmash 81-717/81-714
The 81-717/714 is a Soviet/Russian metro car model, designed in the Soviet Union in the mid-1970s. The cars were made from 1976 to 2014 by Metrovagonmash and the I. E. Yegorov Vagonmash factories of Mytishchi and Saint Petersburg, respectively. Production is still ongoing for specific modifications, and it is both the most widespread metro train ever, currently being used in 19 rapid transit system in 11 countries, and having been produced in 24 different variants in total, as well as the subway train with the longest production span and largest total production number, with over 7000 cars having been manufactured in total so far. Nevsky Prospekt () is a station on the Moskovsko-Petrogradskaya Line of the Saint Petersburg Metro. It serves the street of the same name, one of the largest in the city. Tekhnologichesky Institut ( rus, Технологи́ческий институ́т, p=tʲɪxnəlɐˈɡʲitɕɪskʲɪj ɪnstʲɪˈtut) (English: Technology Institute) is a cross-platform interchange station of the Saint Petersburg Metro. The station consists of two halls, both serving the Kirovsko-Vyborgskaya Line and Moskovsko-Petrogradskaya Line trains. Parnas () is the northern terminus of the Moskovsko-Petrogradskaya Line of the Saint Petersburg Metro. It was opened on 22 December 2006 and is located between the tunnel portal and the Vyborgskoye Metro Depot. It is the northernmost subway station in Saint Petersburg and in Russia. The station is side-platform arrangement almost identical to the other three surface stations in the system: Kupchino, Rybatskoye and Devyatkino, which are also located between tunnel portals and their lines' depots, however unlike those stations there is no transfer to the suburban commuter trains (elektrichkas).
