Line 1 (Madrid Metro)
Line 1 of the Madrid Metro is an underground metro line running from Pinar de Chamartín in the north to Valdecarros in the southeast, via Sol. Today it has 33 stations (more than any other line on the Madrid Metro) and spans from end to end. The line was the first metro line of the Madrid Metro, and the first metro line built in all of Spain. It originally contained only 8 stops connecting Cuatro Caminos in the north to the city center at Puerta del Sol. Line 1 marks the start of the Madrid Metro with its inauguration on 17 October 1919 and public service beginning 14 days later on 31 October. There have been various extensions to the line since it opened including the most recent northern extension to Pinar de Chamartin on 11 April 2007 and a southern extension on 16 May 2007 to Valdecarros. Pinar De Chamartín (Madrid Metro)
Pinar de Chamartín is a station on the Madrid Metro, opened to the public on 4 November, 2007. It is located in fare Zone A and serves the area of Pinar de Chamartín. The station is the terminus for Line 1, Line 4 and the Metro Ligero line 1. As Line 1 is one of the most important lines in Madrid, Line 4 serves the local area of Hortaleza, and the ML1 serves the nearby Cercanías station in the new and expanding neighborhood of Sanchinarro, the station sees a high amount of traffic for being in a relatively low-population neighborhood far removed from the city center. The station has a single entrance located at Calle de Arturo Soria 330. There is a tramway exhibited in the station, as a tribute to the old Madrid tramway (the new tramway system is the Metro Ligero). Trenhotel
Trenhotel was a long distance, overnight train service which used Talgo tilting trains and sleeping cars developed by the Spanish rail network operator Renfe. It was operated by Renfe within Spain, and by its subsidiary Elipsos across France, Switzerland and Italy. The specially developed Talgo carriages were sometimes used by other railway companies, although usually in other livery. Trenhotel also offered special facilities for disabled passengers. A more basic night train service called Tren Estrella previously operated within Spain; this used traditional carriages on conventional Spanish (broad gauge) tracks. All remaining night train services were effectively terminated in March 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic and were not replaced. Talgo (officially Patentes Talgo, SAU) is a Spanish manufacturer of intercity, standard, and high-speed passenger trains. Talgo is an abbreviation of ''Tren Articulado Ligero Goicoechea Oriol'' (English: ''Lightweight articulated train Goicoechea Oriol''). The company was founded by Alejandro Goicoechea and José Luis Oriol. It was first incorporated in 1942. Corporate history The creation of Talgo can be largely credited to the work of Alejandro Goicoechea and José Luis Oriol. Alvia is a High-speed rail, high-speed train service in Spain offered by Renfe Operadora on long-distance routes with a top speed of . The Metro Ligero (; literally "Light Metro", meaning "Light Rail") is a semi-metro system in Madrid, Spain. It has three lines, totaling , and 37 stations.
