Line 11 (Suzhou Metro)
Line 11 is a rapid transit line of the Suzhou Metro system. It was formerly known as Line S1 during planning and construction. Construction started on November 27, 2018. It opened on 24 June 2023. The line uses driverless 6-car Class B rolling stock operating up to . Partial through-running on Line 3 began on December 23, 2023, and full through-running began on June 29, 2024. Description Running west-east, the line mainly serves the urban area of Kunshan, and connects it to Suzhou Industrial Park in the west and nearby Shanghai in the east via a transfer at Huaqiao station to Line 11 of Shanghai Metro. Suzhou Metro, previously called Suzhou Rail Transit, is a rapid transit system serving the city of Suzhou, in Jiangsu Province, China. Line 1 began operation on April 28, 2012. Huaqiao () is a metro station on Line 11 of the Shanghai Metro & Line 11 of the Suzhou Metro. Kunshan
Kunshan is a county-level city in southeastern Jiangsu Province, Jiangsu province with Shanghai bordering its eastern border and Suzhou on its western boundary. It is under the administration of the prefecture-level city of Suzhou. Name There is a strong possibility that the name Kunshan is derived from a hill, but which one is controversial. According to an impacted version, the hill is present-day Little Kunshan (''Xiaokunshan'') in Shanghai's Songjiang District. The character (''Kun'') was the old Chinese name for the Kunlun Mountains. Suzhou Industrial Park
The Suzhou Industrial Park () is a development region in Suzhou, Jiangsu, China. The industrial park was established in February 1994, as part of the Chinese economic reform, reform and opening up campaign in the 1990s, and is unique in its joint governance by Chinese and Singapore, Singaporean officials. While the park struggled at first, and attracted international notoriety following a very publicized falling out between the two sides, it quickly began making a profit due to highly desirable real estate and the presence of many large global corporations, and remains an economic engine for the city.
