Lindy Miller
Lindy Miller (born July 6, 1956) is an American professional golfer who has played on the PGA Tour, Ben Hogan Tour, and Champions Tour. Early life Miller was born, raised and has lived most of his life in Fort Worth, Texas. During his teens, he won the 1973 Fort Worth Junior Golf Association Championship. Amateur career Miller attended Oklahoma State University and was a distinguished member of the golf team — an All-American for all four years (1975–1978), a first-team All-American his last three years and winner of the Haskins Award in 1978. Miller's college teammates included future PGA Tour Champions David Edwards and Bob Tway. Miller and Edwards led the Cowboys to victory at the 1976 and 1978 NCAA Championships. 1977 Walker Cup
The 1977 Walker Cup, the 26th Walker Cup Match, was played on August 26 and 27, 1977, at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, Southampton, New York. The event was won by the United States 16 to 8. The United States led 9–3 after the first day and 11–5 after the second-day foursomes. Needing just a point to retain the trophy, the United States won 5 of the 8 singles matches for a convincing victory. There were no halved matches, although 8 matches went to the last hole. Format The format for play on Friday and Saturday was the same. There were four matches of foursomes in the morning and eight singles matches in the afternoon. In all, 24 matches were played. Each of the 24 matches was worth one point in the larger team competition. If a match was all square after the 18th hole extra holes were not played. Walker Cup
The Walker Cup is a golf trophy contested in odd-numbered years by leading male amateur golfers in two teams: United States, and Great Britain and Ireland. The official name is the Walker Cup Match (not "Matches" as in Ryder Cup Matches). It is organised by The R&A and the United States Golf Association (USGA). In 1921 the Royal Liverpool Golf Club hosted an unofficial contest which was followed by official annual contests from 1922 through 1924. From 1925 they became biennial, held on even-number years. After World War II they switched to odd-numbered years. They are held alternately in the U.S., and Ireland or Britain. Brian Watts
Brian Peter Watts (born March 18, 1966) is an American professional golfer. Early life and amateur career Watts was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada to European parents, but is now a U.S. citizen who lives in Texas. He played college golf at Oklahoma State and won the NCAA Division I Championship in 1987 and was a member of the team that won the 1987 NCAA Division I Team Championship. He also won the 1986 Big 8 Conference Championship and the 1985 and 1987 Morris Williams Intercollegiate (tied Ben Crenshaw's scoring record in '85) as part of his 7 collegiate wins. Only Lindy Miller, Scott Verplank and Willie Wood have more college wins in OSU's long successful golf history. Watts was a four-time All-American (two-time first team and two-time second team) and a 1987 runner-up for the Fred Haskins award. Andy Dillard (born August 4, 1981 in Saltillo, Mississippi) is a former college baseball All-American, professional player and current coach. Dillard attended Saltillo High School and Itawamba Community College before attending Delta State University, where he earned NCAA Division II All-American honors in 2002. He also earned Player of the Week honors from '' Collegiate Baseball Newspaper'' at one point early in that campaign and also earned the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings South Central Region's Player of the Year honor, First-Team All-Gulf South Conference recognition and the Gulf South Conference Player of the Year award.
