Linda Lindeberg
Linda Lindeberg (1915-1973) was an abstract expressionist painter. She was born in 1915 and died from cancer in 1973. In her adult life Lindeberg lived in New York with her husband Giorgio Cavallon who was also an artist. Lindeberg studied at Hoffman School in New York under Hans Hoffman. Lindeberg's work has been described as "dizzy and bright" by Dore Ashton Dore Ashton (May 21, 1928 – January 30, 2017) was a writer, professor and critic on modern and contemporary art. Abstract expressionism is a post–World War II art movement in American painting, developed in New York City in the 1940s. It was the first specifically American movement to achieve international influence and put New York at the center of the Western art world, a role formerly filled by Paris. Although the term "abstract expressionism" was first applied to American art in 1946 by the art critic Robert Coates, it had been first used in Germany in 1919 in the magazine '' Der Sturm'', regarding German Expressionism. In the United States, Alfred Barr was the first to use this term in 1929 in relation to works by Wassily Kandinsky. Giorgio Cavallon
Giorgio Cavallon (March 3, 1904 – December 22, 1989) was a founding member of the American Abstract Artists and a pioneer Abstract Expressionist. Biography Giorgio Cavallon was born March 3, 1904 in Sorio, a hamlet of the municipality of Gambellara near Vicenza Italy and immigrated to the US in 1920. He became a US citizen in 1929. In 1926, Cavallon studied at the National Academy of Design, New York City. In 1927 and 1928, he studied with Charles Hawthorne, Provincetown, Massachusetts and from 1934, he studied during the evening with Hans Hofmann's School of Fine Art. Master Apartments
The Master Apartments, officially known as the Master Building, is a 27-story Art Deco skyscraper at 310 Riverside Drive (Manhattan), Riverside Drive, on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, New York City. It sits on the northeast corner of Riverside Drive and West 103rd Street.
