Linda Doyle
Linda E. Doyle is an Irish academic and educator who is the 45th Provost of Trinity College Dublin, the university's chief officer, having assumed the office in August 2021. An electrical engineer, she has had a long academic career at Trinity, from the 1990s, most recently as Professor of Engineering and the Arts, in addition to holding other management roles such as Dean (and Vice-President) of Research. She has also led one telecommunications research centre at the university, and was the founding director of another, the multi-institution organisation known as CONNECT. Doyle has worked as a member of regulatory and advisory bodies in both Ireland, on broadband network strategy, and the UK, on mobile spectrum allocation. She is or has also been a director of public outreach projects such as Science Gallery Dublin and its international network, of two non-profit art galleries, and of two university spin-off companies. Women In Technology And Science
Women in Technology and Science (or WITS) is an Irish organisation representing women working in science and technology. It accepts members from industry and academia, and of all ages, from students to professionals. It was founded in 1990 by Mary Mulvihill. WITS organises a monthly e-mail newsletter ''WITSWORDS Newsletters''. They have undertaken various initiatives, including compiling the WITS Talent Bank, a list of more than 150 women working in science and technology, and the Re-Enter initiative to support women returning to the workforce after a career break. A group from WITS attended a reception hosted by President Michael D. Higgins at Áras an Uachtaráin to recognise Women in Science in January 2016. In November 2020 they celebrated 30 years of activity. WITS is run by an elected executive committee. The Douglas Hyde Gallery
The Douglas Hyde Gallery is a publicly funded contemporary art gallery situated within the historical setting of Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. The Gallery was co-founded by the Arts Council and Trinity College Dublin. It opened to the public in March 1978 as the first publicly-funded gallery dedicated to contemporary art and the first university gallery in Ireland. When the Gallery opened in 1978, it was for a number of years Ireland's only public gallery of contemporary art. In 2017 Georgina Jackson was appointed director, taking over from John Hutchinson who was director for 25 years. LoRa (from "long range", sometimes abbreviated as "LR") is a physical proprietary radio communication technique.
