Limbach, Baden-Württemberg
Limbach is a town in the district of Neckar-Odenwald-Kreis, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. History The earliest signs of human habitation in the area date to 100-150 AD. Limbach is first mentioned in the records of the Benedictine abbey at Amorbach. The settlement belonged to the abbey in the 11th century, along with five other neighboring villages. At the beginning of the 14th century, the village was sold to Eberhard von Erbach, who sold it to the Archbishop of Mainz in 1318. The castle was destroyed by farmers in 1525. From 1318 to 1803, the village belonged to the bishopric of Mainz. In 1803, it was given to the princes of Leiningen in Baden. During the middle of the 19th century, there was a famine in the Odenwald, and many of the inhabitants left. History The company is named after Peter Limbach who expanded his father's engine repair business in the 1970s in Königswinter. By May 2006, Limbach had produced more than 6000 engines. The engines are certified according to CS-22 Subpart H for use in motorgliders, CS-LSA and CS-VLA type of aircraft. Anna Limbach (born 22 July 1989) is a German sabre fencer. Anna Limbach is a German Sabre Fencer. She started fencing when she was four years old. She participated in her first World Championships by the age of 15 in South Korea. Since 2006 she has been a member of the senior German national team. Limbach won the German fencing championships 2006, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2014, and 2019 with the sabre team. Nicolas Limbach (born 29 December 1985) is a German fencer, world champion in 2009 and team world champion in 2014. He won the Fencing World Cup in 2008–2009, 2009–2010 and 2011–2012. Biography Limbach was born in a family closely involved in fencing: his father directs the fencing section of TSV Bayer Dormagen and his younger sister Anna also fences for Germany.
