MKS Limanovia Limanowa is a Polish football club from Limanowa, Lesser Poland. History Beginning The club was founded in 1924 thanks to the merger of two local clubs, Sokół and Olimpia and adopted the name ''Klub Sportowy Olimpia w Limanowej (Sports Club Olimpia in Limanowa)''. The initial period of the club was very difficult, caused by a lack of funds. The first competitions were held in Limanowa, Nowy Sącz, Mszana Dolna, Wiśnicz, between all of the existing local sports clubs. There were big difficulties with the organization of the competition, mainly related to the costs of travel, which team members were to be self-funded, unless the budget allowed the club to cover the travel expenses of the poorest players. The main means of transport were mostly horse carts, and on rare occasions a truck, occasionally rental vehicles. Limanowa
Limanowa (german: Ilmenau, yi, לימינוב ''Liminuv'') is a small town in southern Poland, in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. It is the capital of Limanowa County and had a population of 15,132 in 2012. History Mentions of the town date back to 1496, when it was documented as Ilmanowa, a rural estate that belonged to members of the szlachta. In 1520, ownership of the estate was passed from the Słupski family to Achacy Jordan, who subsequently established a judiciary. Limanowa became a township in 1565, after being granted city rights by King Sigismund II Augustus. The residents were not required to pay taxes to the Crown for a period of thirty years, throughout which the town rapidly developed. However, its economic strength declined due to the plague, and destruction caused by the Swedish invasion of 1655. Poland Ekstraklasa (), meaning "Extra Class" in Polish, named PKO Ekstraklasa since the 2019–20 season due to its sponsorship by PKO Bank Polski, is the top Polish professional league for men's association football teams. Terheijden
Terheijden is a village in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located in the municipality of Drimmelen, about 6 km north of Breda. History The village was first mentioned in 1332 as van der Heyden, and means "(cultivated) heath land". Terheijden started to develop as the road to Breda deteriorated due to flooding. Around 1400, the hamlets of Hartel and Schimmae were given permission to found a church on the heath. The tower of the St. Antonius Abt church dates from the 15th century. The choir and transept were built around 1500. The church was renovated by Pierre Cuypers between 1876 and 1878. The church was damaged by fire in 1922, and war in 1944. Friends of the Earth International (FoEI) is an international network of environmental organizations in 73 countries. The organization was founded in 1969 in San Francisco by David Brower, Donald Aitken and Gary Soucie after Brower's split with the Sierra Club because of the latter's positive approach to nuclear energy. The founding donation of $500,000 (in 2019 USD) was provided by Robert Orville Anderson, the owner of Atlantic Richfield oil company. It became an international network of organizations in 1971 with a meeting of representatives from four countries: U.S., Sweden, the UK and France. FoEI currently has a secretariat (based in Amsterdam, Netherlands) which provides support for the network and its agreed major campaigns.
