Paoua
Paoua is a town located in the Central African Republic prefecture of Lim-Pendé.The town is the birthplace of the former president of the Central African Republic, Ange-Félix Patassé and mathematician, Gaston Nguérékata. History In 1994, electricity was installed in Paoua. Paoua and its surrounding territories have become something of a ghost town after rebel and government soldier attacks in 2006 and 2007, with much of the population fleeing into the bush or into refugee camps. On 28 March 2013 Paoua was captured by Séléka rebels. In January 2014 the town was captured by rebels from Revolution and Justice group. On 12 January 2018 MINUSCA launched operation Mbaranga securing Paoua city and forcing armed groups to move 50 km from the city. Taley
Taley (also known as Talé), is a village situated in Lim-Pendé, Central African Republic. History People's Army for the Restoration of Democracy (CAR), APRD attacked a Fula people, Peuhl camp in Taley on 18 February 2010 and killed 18 people, including 4 children. Responding to 2019 Ouham-Pendé killings, the killings in Koundjili and Lemouna in 2019, the villagers formed a self-defense group to guard Taley from Return, Reclamation, Rehabilitation, 3R rebels incursion. 3R rebels entered Taley on 27 September 2020 and kidnapped the local gendarmes. They also looted civilian properties. As a result, the residents fled to the bush. As of 12 October 2020, most residents had returned to the village. A rebel group occupied Taley on 12 July 2021. They burned motorbikes and extorted money from traders. Demographics Karé people make up the majority of the village demography. Most of the villagers are Christians. Ndim
Ndim is a village located in Lim-Pendé, Central African Republic. History Around 2002–2003, an armed group from Chad looted a cotton factory in Ndim. In mid-February 2016, 19 MPC fighters entered Ndim. Responding to the presence of MPC fighters, at first MINUSCA civil affairs representative visited Ndim and asked them to behave well. However, later MINUSCA commanders went to Ndim and issued an ultimatum to the MPC to leave the village within 48 hours. They burned houses and markets and later left Ndim. 3R rebels entered Ndim on 6 December 2016. This caused the locals to flee to the bush. FACA returned to Ndim on 16 May 2021, seven years after the village was controlled by armed groups. Ten days later, 3R attacked the FACA outpost at the city entrance and wounded one soldier. Responding to the attack, some locals fled to the bush while some sought refuge at the local catholic church. 3R militias attacked the FACA position in Ndim on 23 June 2021.
