Arthur Lillie (24 February 1831 – 28 November 1911), was a Buddhist, soldier in the British Indian Army, and a writer. Biography Lillie, christened as George Arthur Howard, was the youngest son of Sir John Scott Lillie and his wife Louisa, born at North End, Fulham. He was an officer in the British Indian Army. While in India, he became a Buddhist. His books on religion were poorly received by scholars. Lillie appears to have written the original rule book for a Scottish croquet tournament, which, if so, continues to be his best-received work. Arthur Lillie also took an enthusiastic interest in Gospel of the Hebrews. Lillie Berg (c. 1845 – died after 1896) was an American musician and musical educator. Berg studied under Sigmund Lebert, Immanuel Faisst, and Ludwig Stark, and graduating from the Royal School of Music in Stuttgart, she became a teacher of piano and composition. Later, she studied voice culture under Francesco Lamperti, of Milan. Berg's school of music, following the "Lamberti method", was located at 337 West 59th Street, New York City. Her pupils were trained in operatic and concert singing in multiple languages, as well as in ballad, oratorio, and church singing. Lillie Sullivan (1855–1903) was an American scientific illustrator. At the time of her death, she was the best known illustrator on entomological subjects in the United States, and was for the last twenty years of her life employed in that capacity by the Federal Government in Washington, D.C. Her artwork is in the collections of the Monterey Museum of Art, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and the White House Collection. She is also known as Lillie De Wolf. Lillie Mae Leatherwood (born July 6, 1964) is an American athlete who competed mainly in the 400 metres. Biography Leatherwood was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and brought up in Ralph AL. She attended the University of Alabama and joined the Zeta Phi Beta sorority via the Iota Eta chapter in 1986.
