Lillian Axe
Lillian Axe is an American hard rock band from New Orleans, Louisiana, best known for its major label albums, ''Lillian Axe'', '' Love + War'', ''Poetic Justice'' and ''Psychoschizophrenia''. Originally formed in 1983, the group is still active, though only the guitarist Steve Blaze and bassist Michael Max Darby remain from the original lineup. History The band's origins are based in the New Orleans–based band Oz which guitarist Steve Blaze joined in the early 1980s, which included Rick Bohrer on vocals, Orlando "Ace" Palacio on guitar, Michael "Maxx" Darby on bass guitar, and Jeff Savelle on drums. When Palacio quit, the band told Blaze that he was the new lead guitarist. The band played gigs under the Oz moniker until Blaze came up with the name Lillian Axe driving home from seeing the movie ''Creepshow''. Awake (Godsmack Album)
''Awake'' is the second studio album by American rock band Godsmack, released on October 31, 2000. It features the song "Goin' Down", which first appeared on the band's first studio recording, '' All Wound Up''. It is the final Godsmack album to fully include drummer Tommy Stewart, who would be replaced by former drummer Shannon Larkin afterwards. During the 2000s, the songs " Sick of Life" and "Awake" were used for the United States Navy's "Accelerate Your Life" recruiting advertisements. Recording The band opted to convert a warehouse in Haverhill, Massachusetts into a makeshift studio, rather than use a more traditional studio setting. According to Sully Erna, the band just did not want to move into any luxurious studio, because they wanted to keep the edge on for writing and "not get too far away from what we're all about". The album's recording was initially paid for by the band, at a cost of $2,600, at New Alliance Studios in Boston, and released through the band's own record label E. K. Records Company under the title '' All Wound Up...'' in February 1997.'''' Tommy Stewart is an American drummer, currently for the rock band Lo-Pro. He is best known for his work with the band Godsmack. He has also toured and recorded with a number of other bands including Detroit based metal band Halloween, glam rock band Lillian Axe, and alternative rock bands Fuel and Everclear. Craig Nunenmacher is an American musician, best known as the former drummer for heavy metal bands Black Label Society and Crowbar. He joined BLS in July 2000 while playing for Crowbar, who were touring with BLS at the time. The original BLS drummer, Phil Ondich, left the band mid-tour and, to keep the tour on the road, Nunenmacher filled in for Ondich, playing for both Crowbar and BLS for the rest of the tour. A few weeks into the tour, he was asked to join the band permanently. In 2003, during a short break from Black Label Society (as front-man Zakk Wylde was focusing on a full-time tour with Ozzy Osbourne), Nunenmacher reunited with Kirk Windstein and wrote and recorded Crowbar's '' Lifesblood for the Downtrodden'' album, which had Pantera's Rex Brown on bass guitar, and a guest performance on the track "Lifesblood" by former BLS bass guitarist Steve Gibb on guitar. Dirty Looks is an American hard rock band of members primarily from Erie, Pennsylvania. Although the principal members had been in an earlier band together in Pennsylvania, they met up to form Dirty Looks in San Francisco, California, in 1984. History Originally from the Erie, Pennsylvania cover band Crossfire, Danish-born vocalist/guitarist Henrik Ostergaard and fellow Crossfire bandmate and bassist Jimmy Chartley traveled to San Francisco to form Dirty Looks in 1984. Fellow Crossfire bandmate Boyd Baker joined them a year later.
