Lille (song)
"Lille" is the debut solo single by Lisa Hannigan, taken from her award-nominated debut album ''Sea Sew''. It received its world premiere on Tony Fenton's Today FM show on 31 July 2008, demoed on lisahannigan.com and was later released as a free download in Ireland on 25 August 2008. Lille became an airplay hit on Irish and American radio stations and earned the admiration of the Grammy-nominated Californian singer-songwriter Jason Mraz who invited Hannigan to support him on a 42-date US tour in late 2008. Hannigan then signed with ATO Records in the US, where her album was released in February 2009, although it is currently available from the iTunes store in the US. Hannigan performed "Lille" on ''The Late Late Show'' on 12 September 2008. The song was also performed at the nominations ceremony of the 2009 Mercury Prize in London when ''Sea Sew'' was shortlisted for the award. Lisa Hannigan
Lisa Margaret Hannigan (born 12 February 1981) is an Irish musician, singer, composer, and voice actress. She began her musical career as a member of Damien Rice's band. Since beginning her solo career in 2007 she has released three albums: ''Sea Sew'' (2008), ''Passenger'' (2011), and '' At Swim'' (2016). Hannigan's music has received award nominations both in Ireland and the United States. Hannigan also received attention in North America for her role as Blue Diamond in '' Steven Universe'', an American animated television series created by Rebecca Sugar. Early life and education Hannigan was born in Dublin but grew up in Kilcloon, County Meath, Ireland. ''Ondine'' is a 2009 Irish romantic drama film written and directed by Neil Jordan and starring Colin Farrell and Alicja Bachleda. The film was shot on location in Castletownbere, and it touches upon the possible existence of the mythological selkie bringing hope and love to humans they so much want to become. Neil Patrick Jordan (born 25 February 1950) is an Irish film director, screenwriter, novelist and short-story writer. The Mercury Prize, formerly called the Mercury Music Prize, is an annual music prize awarded for the best album released in the United Kingdom by a British or Irish act. It was created by Jon Webster and Robert Chandler in association with the British Phonographic Industry and British Association of Record Dealers in 1992 as an alternative to the Brit Awards. The prize was originally sponsored by Mercury Communications, a brand owned by Cable & Wireless, from which the prize gets its name.
