Lillah Halla
Lillah Halla (born 6 April 1981) is a Brazilian film director. Life Halla was born in Vargem Grande do Sul. From 2010 until 2014, she studied film direction and scriptwriting at the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión in Cuba. Her 2014 student film ''Si no se puede bailar, esta no es mi Revolución'' won the award for best short film at the Montréal World Film Festival. Afterwards, she did a research program in experimental cinema at Concordia University in Montreal in 2014. She has worked as a live video director and cutter for theater productions in Germany. She has worked with Christoph Schlingensief, Frank Castorf and Stefan Kaegi. Her short film ''Menarca'' (2020) was one of 10 selected short films at the Critics' Week of the 2020 Cannes Film Festival. The film tackles patriarchal myths about Vagina dentata, Amazon river dolphins and Piranhas. Patriarchy is a social system in which positions of authority are primarily held by men. Flehmen Response
The flehmen response (; from German , and Upper Saxon German ), also called the flehmen position, flehmen reaction, flehmen grimace, flehming, or flehmening, is a behavior in which an animal curls back its upper lip exposing its front teeth, inhales with the nostrils usually closed, and then often holds this position for several seconds. It may be performed over a site or substance of particular interest to the animal, or may be performed with the neck stretched and the head held high in the air. Flehmen is performed by a wide range of mammals, including ungulates and felids. The 76th annual Cannes Film Festival took place from 16 to 27 May 2023. Swedish filmmaker Ruben Östlund served as jury president. The film centres on Sofia (Ayomi Domenica Dias), a 17-year-old volleyball player in Brazil who is on the verge of being offered an athletic scholarship, when she unexpectedly finds herself pregnant and must struggle to find a way to get an abortion in light of the political and legal situation in the country.
