Liina Laasma
Liina Laasma (born 13 January 1992) is an Estonian athlete specialising in the javelin throw. She represented her country at the 2013 World Championships without qualifying for the final. In addition, she won the gold medal at the 2011 European Junior Championships on home soil. Her personal best in the event is 63.65 metres set in Rabat in 2016. This is the current national record. Tõstamaa
Tõstamaa is a small borough ( et, alevik) in Pärnu municipality, Pärnu County, southwestern Estonia. Tõstamaa has a population of 466 (as of 1 January 2020). Tõstamaa St. Mary's Lutheran church was built in 1763–1768. Tõstamaa Manor Tõstamaa Manor (german: Testama) was first mentioned in 1553 as ''Testama'', when it belonged to the Bishop of Ösel–Wiek. Later the owners have been the Kursells, Helmersens and Staël von Holsteins. The Early-Classical two-storey main building was built in 1804. During a renovation in 1997, several original painted ceilings were uncovered. The manor was dispossessed in 1919 and since 1921 a local school ( Tõstamaa Keskkool) is operating in the main building. The most famous inhabitant of the manor is probably orientalist Alexander von Staël-Holstein, who grew up and spent his childhood at the manor. 2013 World Championships In Athletics – Women's Javelin Throw
The women's javelin throw at the 2013 World Championships in Athletics was held at the Luzhniki Stadium on 16–18 August. Throwing at home, defending champion and world leader Mariya Abakumova made one attempt in the trials. Her 69.09 flew past the automatic qualifying mark and turned out to be the farthest throw of the competition, leading ten other automatic qualifiers. In the final, Abakumova couldn't match her qualifier, though she did take the first round lead with 65.09. But that was to be her best. In the second round Kimberley Mickle threw a personal best 66.25 to take the lead. The lead lasted only 5 attempts before Christina Obergföll let loose a 69.05. That was it, the only other news from the final four rounds was Mickle's second improvement on her personal best to 66.60 in the final round. 2018 European Athletics Championships
The 2018 European Athletics Championships were held in Berlin, Germany, from 6 to 12 August 2018. The championships were part of the first European Championships with other events happening in the United Kingdom. For the second Championships in a row the Russian team did not participate; this was due to the suspension of the All-Russia Athletic Federation by the International Association of Athletics Federations. However, several athletes were cleared by the IAAF to compete as Authorised Neutral Athletes under the flag of the European Athletic Association. Athletics at the 2016 Summer Olympics were held during the last 10 days of the games, from 12 to 21 August 2016, at the Olympic Stadium. The sport of athletics at the 2016 Summer Olympics was made into three distinct sets of events: track and field events, road running events, and racewalking events. Competition schedule Track and field events were held at João Havelange Olympic Stadium, while the race walks and marathon start and finish in Recreio dos Bandeirantes and Sambódromo, respectively. Apart from the race walks and marathon, ten track and field events held finals in the morning session for the first time since 1988.
