The LifeSaver bottle is a portable water purification device. The bottle filters out objects larger than 15 nanometres. Development After the 2004 Asian tsunami and Hurricane Katrina disaster in the U.S., Michael Pritchard, a water-treatment expert in Ipswich, England began to develop the LifeSaver bottle after seeing that it took multiple days for water to reach refugees. Pritchard presented a prototype of the LifeSaver at 2007's DSEi London, where the product was named "Best Technological Development". Pritchard's entire stock of 1,000 bottles sold out within four hours of the presentation. Lifesaver (poem)
"Lifesaver" (1931) is a poem by Australian poet Elizabeth Riddell. It was originally published in '' The Bulletin'' on 4 March 1931, as by "Elizabeth Richmond", and was subsequently reprinted in the author's single-author collections and a number of Australian poetry anthologies. The poem depicts the death of a youth from drowning on an Australian beach as he is returned to shore by lifesavers. Critical reception While reviewing the author's poetry collection ''Poems'' in 1948 a ''Bulletin'' reviewer noted: "The distinguishing qualities of Elizabeth Riddell's ''Poems'' (Ure Smith Pty. Ltd.) are a rich and colorful imagery and the sparkle of epigram...It is with some surprise that one realises, among the tropic landscapes or in the sunlight of wit, that almost all the poems are concerned, one way or another, with death. Sometimes, as in "Lifesaver," the theme is stated clearly and sharply." Publication history After the poem's initial publication in '' The Bulletin'' it wa ...

Life Savers
Life Savers (stylized as LifeSavers) is an American brand of ring-shaped hard and soft candy. Its range of mints and fruit-flavored candies is known for its distinctive packaging, coming in paper-wrapped aluminum foil rolls. Candy manufacturer Clarence Crane of Garrettsville, Ohio (father of the poet Hart Crane) invented the brand in 1912 as a "summer candy" that could withstand heat better than chocolate. The candy is so named due to its shape resembling that of a traditional ring-style life preserver also known as a "life saver." After registering the trademark, Crane sold the rights to his Pep-O-Mint peppermint candy to then-entrepreneur Edward John Noble for $2,900. Instead of using cardboard rolls, which were not very successful, Noble created tinfoil wrappers to keep the mints fresh. Noble founded the Life Savers and Candy Company in 1913 and significantly expanded the market for the product by installing Life Savers displays next to the cash registers of restaurants a ...

Reception

The review by Scott Yanow stated "This solo piano date is still one of Bonner's best. The influence of is strong but Bonner's six originals give the set an impressive amount of diversity and even at the relatively young age of 26, Joe Bonner had a lot to say. It is surprising that he has not become very well-known".
