''Lifer'' is the ninth studio album from contemporary Christian music band MercyMe, which was released on March 31, 2017, by Fair Trade Services. The album was produced by David Garcia, Ben Glover and Solomon Olds. The album debuted at No. 1 on the ''Billboard'' Christian Album chart and No. 10 on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart, selling 33,000 album equivalent units in its first week. The lead single from the album, " Even If", reached No. 1 on the ''Billboard'' Christian Songs chart, becoming their twelfth No. 1 on the chart. Commercial performance For the ''Billboard'' charting week of April 22, 2017, ''Lifer'' debuted at No. 10 on the ''Billboard'' 200. It also reached No. 1 on the Top Christian Albums chart. MercyMe
MercyMe is an American contemporary Christian music band founded in Edmond, Oklahoma. The band consists of lead vocalist Bart Millard, percussionist Robby Shaffer, bassist Nathan Cochran, and guitarists Michael Scheuchzer and Barry Graul. The band formed in 1994 and released six independent albums before signing with INO Records in 2001. The group first gained mainstream recognition with the crossover single "I Can Only Imagine (MercyMe song), I Can Only Imagine", which elevated their debut album, ''Almost There (MercyMe album), Almost There'', to triple platinum certification. Christopher Edmund Stevens (born November 29, 1967) is an American record producer, mix-engineer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in Nashville, Tennessee. Early and personal life Stevens was born November 29, 1967, in Eugene, Oregon. He graduated from North Eugene High School and studied electronics at Lane Community College. Bart Marshall Millard (born December 1, 1972) is an American singer and songwriter who is best known as the leader of the band MercyMe. He has also released two solo albums: '' Hymned, No. 1'', in 2005 and '' Hymned Again'' in 2008. He received a solo Grammy nomination in the category of Best Southern, Country, or Bluegrass Gospel Album for the latter album. Band career In high school, Millard wanted to become a football player, a dream which ended when he injured both ankles at a high school football game. As a result, Millard took choir as an elective.
