Lieven Maesschalck
Lieven Maesschalck (born 1964 in Zele) is a Belgian physiotherapist who worked among others with the Belgium national football team. As a physiotherapist he also treats multiple sportsmen. Biography In 1987 he took over the private practice of his father in Lebbeke. In 1996 he was hired by the cycling team Mapei. In the same year he went to the Atlanta Summer Olympics with the national judo and swimming federations. In 1998 he opened a second practice in Antwerp. In 2001 Maesschalck started the concept "Move To Cure" and in the same year he was hired by the national football team of Belgium (''the Red Devils''). In 2006 also the Italian team AC Milan asked for his services. From 2010 on he became the head of the medical staff of the Belgium national football team. In 2013 Maesschalck received a doctorate ''honoris causa'' from Hasselt University. Johan Museeuw
Johan Museeuw (born 13 October 1965) is a retired Belgian professional road bicycle racer, road racing cyclist who was a professional from 1988 until 2004. Nicknamed ''The Lion of Flanders'', he was particularly successful in the cobbled classics of Flanders and Northern France and was considered one of the best classic cycle races, classic races specialists of the 1990s. He won both the Tour of Flanders (men's race), Tour of Flanders and Paris–Roubaix three times and was UCI Road World Championships – Men's road race, road world champion in 1996. Frank Vandenbroucke (cyclist)
Frank Vandenbroucke (6 November 1974 – 12 October 2009) was a Belgian professional road racing cyclist. After showing promise in track and field in his adolescence, Vandenbroucke took to cycle racing in the late 1980s and developed into one of the great hopes for Belgian cycling in the 1990s, with a string of victories that included Liège–Bastogne–Liège, Grand Tour (cycling), Grand Tour stages and Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, Omloop Het Volk. This early success dissipated however in a series of drug abuse, drug problems, rows with teams and suicide attempts. Despite repeated attempts to continue his career with a string of different teams from 2000 to 2008, Vandenbroucke's drug use and unpredictability eventually led to his estrangement from the cycling world. Although Vandenbroucke claimed in an interview in 2009 to have recovered his mental health, he died of a pulmonary embolism in October 2009 at the age of 34. Nicolas Colsaerts (born 14 November 1982) is a Belgian professional golfer currently playing on the European Tour and previously on the PGA Tour. Early life Colsaerts, also known as "The Belgian Bomber", was born in Schaerbeek, Belgium. Marc Robert Wilmots (born 22 February 1969) is a Belgian professional football manager and former player who is the sporting director of Standard Liège. During his club career as an attacking midfielder, he won trophies with KV Mechelen, Standard Liège and Schalke 04. He represented the Belgium national team, earning 70 caps. He was in the Belgium squad for the 1990, 1994, 1998 and 2002 World Cups, as well as the 2000 Euro which Belgium hosted jointly with the Netherlands.
