Liechtenstein Football Association
The Liechtenstein Football Association (LFV) (german: Liechtensteiner Fussballverband) is the governing body of football in Liechtenstein. It was established on 28 April 1934, and became affiliated to UEFA on 22 May 1974. The association organizes the Liechtenstein national football team and the Liechtenstein Football Cup. Because Liechtenstein has fewer than 8 (only 7 not counting reserves) active teams, it is the only UEFA member without its own national league. This means the Liechtensteiner teams play in the Swiss Football League system. The LFV is based in Schaan. Hans-Peter Zaugg
Hans-Peter Zaugg, (born 2 December 1952), is a Swiss football manager and former player. He is often referred to by his nickname, "Bidu." Career A midfielder, Zaugg played for FC Rot-Weiss Bümpliz, Neuchâtel Xamax and FC Bern. After taking up coaching he coached at various Swiss clubs until 1990, when he became a youth coach in the Swiss Football Association. Two years later, Zaugg also joined the Switzerland senior team as an assistant coach, a position he held until 1999, when he became caretaker of the national side, following Gilbert Gress' resignation in a dispute over salary. From 2000 to 2005, Zaugg then coached at Grasshopper Club Zurich, FC Luzern and BSC Young Boys. Liechtenstein National Football Team
The Liechtenstein national football team (german: Liechtensteinische Fussballnationalmannschaft) is the national football team of the Principality of Liechtenstein and is controlled by the Liechtenstein Football Association. The organisation is known as the ''Liechtensteiner Fussballverband'' in German. The team's first match was an unofficial match against Malta in Seoul, a 1–1 draw in 1981. Their first official match came two years later, a 0–1 defeat from Switzerland. Liechtenstein's largest win, a 4–0 win over Luxembourg in a 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifier on 13 October 2004, was both its first ever away win and its first win in any FIFA World Cup qualifier. Liechtenstein Football Cup
The Liechtenstein Football Cup is Liechtenstein's premier association football, football competition, and has been organised annually by the Liechtenstein Football Association, Liechtenstein Football Association (LFV) since 1946. The winner qualifies to take part in the UEFA Europa Conference League. As there is no national league in Liechtenstein, the Liechtenstein Football Cup is the only national football competition in the country. The country has only seven clubs, all of which historically have already established themselves in the Swiss Football League, Swiss league competitions. The Swiss football league system, is a series of interconnected leagues for association football clubs in Switzerland, with seven teams from Liechtenstein, and one each from exclaves of Germany and Italy, also competing. Schaan () is the largest municipality of Liechtenstein by population. It is located to the north of Vaduz, the capital, in the central part of the country. it has a population of 6,039 making it the most populous administrative district in Liechtenstein. One of the most popular sports in Liechtenstein is football. In Liechtenstein there is no national association football league however there are seven clubs in Liechtenstein which play in the Swiss football league system.
