History The party contested the May 1997 parliamentary elections, receiving 0.4% of the vote and winning a single seat. 	Cameroon Cameroon (; french: Cameroun, ff, Kamerun), officially the Republic of Cameroon (french: République du Cameroun, links=no), is a country in west- central Africa.
