Liar Wanted
''Liar Wanted'' () is a 1961 Greek comedy film made by Finos Films, based on the same named theatrical work of Dimitris Psathas. It was directed by Giannis Dalianidis and starring Dinos Iliopoulos, Pantelis Zervos, Thanassis Vengos and Periklis Christoforidis. Plot Theodoros Parlas, known as the Pseftothodoros (the Lying-Theodoros) is a vocational liar. He comes from his village to Athens in search for work. Giannis Dalianidis
Giannis Dalianidis (; 31 December 1923 – 16 October 2010) was a Greek film director. His first film was ''Mousitsa'', released in 1959, which was followed by a series of musicals. Between 1974 and 1981, he produced the television series ''Luna Park''. In 2002, he was dubbed a "national film hero" at the International Thessaloniki Film Festival. Biography Giannis Dalianidis was born in Thessaloniki on 31 December 1923. He started his career as a dancer under the nickname Giannis Dal. From 1958, he worked in cinema, initially as a screenwriter and afterwards as a director. In 1959 he directed his first film, ''Mousitsa'' and sometime later ''Laos kai Kolonaki''. In 1961 he started to cooperate with the Finos Films the most successful Greek film production company. He directed such films as ''The Downhill'', ''Liar Wanted'', and ''Gorgones ke Manges'', among others. Dalianidis mainly excelled in musical films. Thanasis Veggos
Thanasis Veggos (alternatively spelt Thanassis and/or Vengos; Greek: Θανάσης Βέγγος, ''Thanássis Véngos''; 29 May 19273 May 2011) was a Greek actor and director born in Neo Faliro, Piraeus. He performed in around 130 films, predominantly comedies in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, starring in more than 50 among them. He is considered one of the best Greek comedy actors of all time. His famous comedic catchphrase was ' ("My good man"). Background Veggos was the only son of a power station employee, who had fought with the Greek Resistance in World War II. Vassilis Veggos played an important part in the defense of the Piraeus power station when the Germans attempted to destroy it before departing in 1944, but precisely because of this was dismissed from his job in the post-war purge of leftists.
