Lianna Haroutounian
Lianna Haroutounian is an Armenian operatic soprano. She studied at the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan and the Centre de Formation Lyrique of the Opéra Bastille. She made her debut with The Royal Opera in 2013, and is considered by some to be a Verdi specialist. Haroutounian is considered to be one of the most promising Verdi sopranos of her generation. Her remarkable lyrical-spinto abilities allow her to address a wide opera repertoire, facing Verdi and Puccini as the French and the Russian repertoire, and a wide concert and oratorio repertoire. Metsamor
Metsamor (, ), is a town and urban municipal community in the Armavir Province of Armenia. It is famous for being home to Armenia's Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant, the only nuclear plant in the Transcaucasian region. As of the 2011 census, the town had a population of 9,191. Nicola Luisotti (born 26 November 1961, in Viareggio, Italy) is an Italian conductor. He currently holds the title "Director Principal Invitado" (principal guest conductor) of Madrid's Teatro Real. Biography Luisotti grew up in Bargecchia. He began studying music as a child, with lessons on the church organ. A seminary student until age 14, he was the director of his village church choir by age 11. He later trained as a pianist, with secondary degrees in composition, trumpet and voice. Upon completing his formal study, he traveled between Milan, where he was a rehearsal pianist for La Scala, and Florence, where he was a member of the chorus of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. The ''Messa da Requiem'' is a musical setting of the Catholic funeral mass (Requiem) for four soloists, double choir and orchestra by Giuseppe Verdi. It was composed in memory of Alessandro Manzoni, whom Verdi admired, and therefore also referred to as the ''Manzoni Requiem''. The first performance, at the San Marco church in Milan on 22 May 1874, conducted by the composer, marked the first anniversary of Manzoni's death.
