Li Tianlin
Li Tianlin ( zh, 李田林, died 1995) was a Chinese civil servant and politician. She was among the first group of women elected to the Legislative Yuan in 1948. Biography Li was originally from Jilin City, where she attended the Jilin Province Women Teachers College. She went on to study at Northeastern University (China), Northeastern University in Shenyang, but transferred to Nankai University in Tianjin after the Mukden Incident. She subsequently attended graduate school at Columbia University. After returning to China, she became a secretary at Tianjin city council, and then an inspector for Beijing, Peking municipality. She transferred to the civil service, becoming a commissioner at the Ministry of Railways. Later she became a secretary at the head office of China Airlines. In the 1948 Chinese legislative election, 1948 elections to the Legislative Yuan she ran as a candidate in Hejiang Province and was elected to parliament.

Legislative Yuan
The Legislative Yuan () is the unicameral legislature of the Republic of China (Taiwan) located in Taipei. The Legislative Yuan is composed of 113 members, who are directly elected for four-year terms by people of the Taiwan Area through a parallel voting system. Originally located in Nanjing, the Legislative Yuan, along with the National Assembly (electoral college) and the Control Yuan (upper house), formed the tricameral parliament under the original 1947 Constitution. The Legislative Yuan previously had 760 members representing constituencies in all of China (includes provinces, municipalities, Tibet Area, and various professions in Mainland China). Until democratization, the Republic of China was an authoritarian state under the '' Dang Guo'' system.
