Li Lun (general)
Li Lun (; 30 October 1927 – 25 June 2019) was a lieutenant general of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) who served as President of the PLA Logistics Academy and Deputy Director of the PLA General Logistics Department. He was the son of General Li Kenong. Biography Li Lun was born as Li Runxiu () on 30 October 1927 in Wuhu, Anhui, Republic of China. He was the youngest son of Li Kenong, a Communist Party intelligence officer and general, and his wife Zhao Ying (). In 1939, Li Lun enlisted in the Eighth Route Army at the age of 12 and served as a messenger. In March 1941, his parents brought him to Yan'an, the Communist headquarters during the Second Sino-Japanese War, where he studied at the Yan'an Artillery School. During the Chinese Civil War, Li began to engage in combat and fought in many battles including the Battle of Jinan, the Huaihai Campaign and the Yangtze River Crossing Campaign. Eighth Route Army
The Eighth Route Army (), officially known as the 18th Group Army of the National Revolutionary Army of the Republic of China, was a group army under the command of the Chinese Communist Party, nominally within the structure of the Chinese military headed by the Chinese Nationalist Party during the Second Sino-Japanese War. The Eighth Route Army was created from the Chinese Red Army on September 22, 1937, when the Chinese Communists and Chinese Nationalists formed the Second United Front against Japan at the outbreak of the Second Sino-Japanese War, as the Chinese theater was known in World War II. Together with the New Fourth Army, the Eighth Route Army formed the main Communist fighting force during the war and was commanded by Communist party leader Mao Zedong and general Zhu De. Zhoushan , formerly romanized as Chusan, is an urbanized archipelago with the administrative status of a prefecture-level city in the eastern Chinese province of Zhejiang. It consists of an archipelago of islands at the southern mouth of Hangzhou Bay, off Ningbo. East China Field Army
The Third Field Army was one of the five main forces of the Communist Party's People's Liberation Army during the Chinese Civil War. It was established in early 1949. Initially known as the East China Field Army, it was formed by the New Fourth Army and the Eighth Route Army troops stationed in Shandong Province, a gradual adaptation of the expansion.
